Paladin Magnus Dawnguard Queen Spazzy I'm not EVEN clicking that. You said the word discordant, I can't do it. Discordant sounds make me ache. And the dial-up sound would make me cry. I remember dial-up, was the only option I had until I was a senior in high school. Those were bad times, man. Bad. Times. *shudders* I feel you!!! The song will definitely be irritating and negative for those with sensitivity issues of any sort. I definitely cringed when I listened to it. Dialup was the worst! I remembered asking my mom what would happen if I tried to use the internet at the same time that she was on the phone. She didn't know, so I tried doing just that. That was how I learned about the demon that Dialup truly was. You're one of the only other people I know whose ever had Dialup, too lol. All of my friends just had regular internet, and when I ask them if they ever heard that horrifying robotic sound, they just look awkwardly at me. sweatdrop
It was bad enough while I was still figuring out proper chords on piano and other instruments, I'll still cringe if my hands slip up and hit a bad note or if my bass is out of tune. Ohmygosh, you had it too?! Most people give me daft looks if I ever speak about it, it was already going the way of the dodo while I was in school, now you have to have special adapters to even hook a phone line to a PC. It was so absolutely frustrating when I had projects for school, though, because, like, teachers never freaking think about that for their students. They'd be like, "Yeah, go to this site, watch this video" and I could never get them to understand "I can't just go home and watch a video, it's literally impossible, it takes me an hour or more just to download a single freaking song." And then if you wanted to play a game on the 'net... 'Hope you have a coloring book or something handy because you'll be sitting here a while!' (I did used to sit through that very special hell as a child. Gave a whole different meaning to the word 'slow.') We had a sort of splitter while I lived with my uncle in high school so calls would still come to our phone while I used the internet. Couldn't answer them without booting me off still, of course, but at least we didn't miss important calls. Before that, I always had to wait until, like, late at night to be allowed to get on the internet. In the summer or on longer holidays while I was off school, I'd even stay up all night so I could have more time to be online. >>; But that sound, oh god, that sound, I imagine that must be something like what a demon summoning must sound like, because dial-up was such an absolute horror.
