Astronomy : O
- Richard took astronomy very seriously, so when it came to his NEWT he was focused. Wanting to be an astronomer it was no surprise that he was able to remember the tiniest of details. Though not overly artistic, he put a lot of painstaking effort into the details of the solar system. Perhaps if he’d put the effort in when he was in art he would have done better. Luckily this was astronomy and Richard managed to get an Outstanding for his efforts.
Charms : O
- If there was one class that wasn’t astronomy that Richard excelled at it was Charms. He didn’t plan on letting his grade slide after his OWL. As such he put in quite a bit of work to keep it as high as possible. Practicing all the spells to make sure he was good to go come the exam, he wasn’t surprised that he got an Outstanding.
Defence Against the Dark Arts : E
- Richard studied quite a bit for his defensive class. Although he’s put in a lot he managed to fall short of a perfect grade. Luckily the Gryffindor wasn’t looking for perfect but rather he was looking to maintain his Exceeding Expectations. With all that practice he managed just that even if it was a low Exceeding Expectations.
Herbology : A
- Richard was a quick study when it came to learning about the care of different plants. Though truthfully it was his extra study help with Garnet that kept his grade high during his OWL. Come his NEWT, Richard wasn’t overly pressed to do well in the class. He did enough to get an Acceptable grade in the course and that was about it.
Electives
Alchemy : P
- Richard knew that continuing in Alchemy would be a risk. He wasn’t good with the potions and the history of it was less then enjoyable. However, he wanted to continue in it even if he didn’t need it. Unfortunately, the NEWT required him to make a potion which he wasn’t overly comfortable with. Never being overly great with potions him grade tanked and he only ended up with a Poor grade.
Divination : E
- Divination was one of those classes Richard did alright in. He practiced the different disciplines particularly the ones he struggled with. It really helped with reading each person using the different types. By the time he got to the NEWT he was solid on the crystal gazing however he wasn’t going to lie, palm reading was not something he was good at.
Ghoul and Ghost Studies : E
- Richard found ghost studies to be one of his easier classes. Though the lectures were less then exciting. Regardless when it came to the NEWT he dealt with catching a ghost. Which turned out to be relatively easy for him to do, thanks to his studying for defense class. He knew how to go about it and despite to taking longer then he’d planned too, Richard had managed to do so. Thus, gaining himself an Exceeding Expectations.
