- ■ Chrys didn't find this class very engaging, truth be told. The late hour and monotonous nature of it weren't particularly engaging, so she found herself having difficulty staying awake. She might've had a better time at it if she'd bothered to dedicate herself, but she couldn't think of a single reason it would be important later on, so she didn't worry much about it. She passed the exam just shy of an EE.

- ■ Chrys wasn't exactly terrible at this class, but she's not a terribly patient person. She struggled somewhat with spells here and there, and whenever she would have difficulty, it would frustrate her to the point of poor performance. Some spells annoyed her so much when she couldn't get them, that the annoyance continued on each time she attempted to perform them, and thus she never quite mastered a handful. She did reasonably well on the test, all things considered, but her frustration showed in her written exam.
xxxDEFENSE AGAINST THE DARK ARTS ~ Oxxx
- ■ It's possible that the reason Chrys lacked patience in her other wandwork courses was that she'd used it all up on this one. She's not a bad witch, exactly, but it's obvious that delicacy is not her strong suit, so Charms and Transfiguration were a struggle. Defense, however, was where she shined. Her protective nature took over when she was studying this course, and she did quite well at any and all manner of offensive and defensive magic. Her score was quite impressive, though not perfect by any means.

- ■ Being that Chrys had spent most of her life being told to keep clean and stay away from dirt, she went into the course with next to no knowledge of how to navigate plants. Her lack of base knowledge combined with a lack of patience led to a poor performance. Couple that with a distinct lack of patience from the professor himself, and she was lucky to pass this exam at all.
xxxHISTORY OF MAGIC ~ EExxx
- ■ Chrys was always quite good at history. Her parents had educated her well before she began attending Hogwarts, and a good bit of what was taught the first few years was already well-known to her. Later years got more in depth into parts of history she hadn't studied at home, but she was a decent enough pupil. She did struggle with keeping dates straight at times, namely when there were two sets of numbers that were quite similar and went to two separate events. Her exam score fell just shy of an O.
xxxPOTIONS ~ Axxx
- ■ Much like Herbology, this was not an area in which Chrys was at all comfortable upon starting school. She'd never really dealt with potions before, and a lack of patience made it difficult for her to succeed. Each failure brought with it frustration, which only impeded her progress more. She had the benefit in this course of a more patient professor, at least, but it didn't help overmuch, and her performance was barely any better than how she did on the Herbology exam.
xxxTRANSFIGURATION ~ Axxx
- ■ It's only by the grace of God that Chrys passed this exam, truth be told. She flat out refused to perform the practical, knowing full well that she wasn't skilled enough to succeed at vanishing a kitten, and loathe to curse the animal to whatever miserable state she'd have left it in. Her written exam didn't fare much better, and she barely managed to pass at all. It was only the fear of what would happen should she fail the exam that pushed her to pass it.

- ■ While Chrys isn't much of an artist herself, she at least has the necessary background knowledge to critique and to analyze. She did reasonably well on any and all assignments in which she was expected to draw or paint, provided one was taking into account that she was not An Artist by any means. When it came to the exam, she relied quite heavily on her written exam to get her a passing grade.
xxxCARE OF MAGICAL CREATURES ~ Oxxx
- ■ Of all her courses, this is Chrys' favorite. She feels like it's the closest to an adventure as she ever gets, interacting with various creatures and getting to learn about them. She had taken it up as a whim in her fourth year, in a fit of stubborn defiance against her parents. She hadn't expected to like it so much, but was pleasantly surprised at how enjoyable it was. She also found that she was something of a natural, perhaps because while she has no patience for herself, or even for conflict, she has an infinite supply when it comes to dealing with her siblings, and that patience apparently also applies to animals. Dealing with magical creatures, after all, isn't so different from dealing with a child. She passed this exam with flying colors, much to her delight.
xxxMUGGLE STUDIES ~ EExxx
- ■ Chrys wasn't entirely sure why she took this course, other than the fact that her friends knowledge of the muggle world often left her feeling like she'd missed the punchline to every joke they told. She didn't find that the actual course was very helpful in this regard, but she found it fascinating all the same, and did quite well. With help from her friends with muggle relatives or just more muggle upbringing, she found it quite easy to remember the correct information to pass the exam.
xxxMUSIC ~ EExxx
- ■ Chrys isn't exactly a musician, but her best friend certainly is, and she'd be lying if she said that didn't make her more interested in it herself. Most of her success in this class comes, not from her paying attention while in it, but rather to listening to Chance play or talk about music. She probably would've performed better on the exam, but her relationship with him was strained this year, leaving her less enthused than usual about the course itself. Adding in the fact that she couldn't ask him to help her study, and she was quite surprised to've managed an EE.
xxxMYTHOLOGY ~ EExxx
- ■ Chrys finds this class quite interesting, much the same way she does history of magic. Plus, the professor is her head of house, which was quite the motivation to preform well. Coupled with her intense satisfaction with Professor Harlowe's handling of her betrothed's attitude their first class (though in hindsight she feels a little less vindicated by the interaction), and this class certainly had her attention. While she's not perfect at keeping everything straight, she does find it easier than most memorization, and passed quite easily.
xxxSTUDY OF ANCIENT RUINS ~ Axxx
- ■ Chrys took this class more or less out of a sense of obligation, since it is certainly the sort of thing her parents would want her to take. She doesn't dislike the class, but it's hardly where her interest lies. Still, she did what she could to perform well. It's mostly a lack of natural aptitude that failed her here, resulting in a perfectly respectable but hardly brag-worthy grade.
