- ■ Mercy was never particularly fond of this course. However, after a discussion with her best friend led to a plan for a future business venture that involved designing magical fireworks, she reasoned it might be within her best interests to apply herself a little more. Given that she's not a dumb person, she didn't have much trouble with the course once she was actually making an effort, and did very well on the exam this go around.
xxxDEFENSE AGAINST THE DARK ARTS ~ EExxx
- ■ This was always Merc's favorite course as far as wandwork goes, but with her future career decided upon and it having nothing to do with defensive magic whatsoever, she was willing to let her studies slide ever so slightly. She was never bad at the class, so even without dedicating herself to it, she managed to perform quite well on the exam. She didn't do as well on her NEWT as she had on her OWL, but she did manage a pretty respectable middle-ground EE.
xxxPOTIONS ~ Oxxx
- ■ Again, her decisions regarding her future led to a very sudden interest in performing very, very well in this course. Unlike previous years, where she struggled somewhat with the details, Merc found herself studying intently. She was constantly quizzing herself on ingredients and their properties, timing and precision measurements becoming the height of her concerns. She didn't quite manage a perfect score, but it was very close, which she was proud of.

- ■ This class fell under the same category as potions and charms, something she was determined to do well in so that she was starting off her business on the right foot. She managed to perform quite well in the NEWT level class, and her dedication showed in her exam results.
xxxCARE OF MAGICAL CREATURES ~ Axxx
- ■ Given that this course was one she was taking more for fun than anything else, Merc didn't focus quite as much as she should've to studying for it. Her grade wasn't terrible, sure, but it certainly wasn't what she was capable of. She didn't prioritize it, more concerned with doing well in courses that she needed, but had previously been areas of struggle for her.
xxxCURSEBREAKING ~ Axxx
- ■ Having decided against a career that had anything to do with curses or breaking them, Merc didn't see any need to pay close attention to the course. She took it for an academic interest more than anything else, and as such, her grades slipped more than a little over the course of her final year. Her exam reflected that, though she did at least manage to pass.
xxxMYTHOLOGY ~ Axxx
- ■ Merc's interest in this course her final years was less because of actual interest, and more because she fancied herself eventually 'pulling a Gandalf' a la telling stories via fireworks. Of course, it wasn't as though she couldn't read up on the stories in the future, and she'd really only taken the class in the first place because the professor was her Head of House. So, just as before, she only barely managed to pass the exam.
