Yesterday's threadfall had been quite an interesting one. Although they had been told to expect some different winds here and there, it was definitely a threadfall to remember. The wingleader pair had their sets of new threadscore that accompanied pretty much every fall. They were wingleaders, but they weren't perfect. His wing had done fairly well, however, some impressing him more than others. The wing as a whole was still learning how to work well together, but he was already proud of them. Which brought his mind to another thought: the little blue pair....C'lusi of blue Macuith. Takarath said quicker than V'kenti could remember, and finished his' sentence. "Yes...the two of them..." V'kenti sat in his chair at his desk while he contemplated what to do. Their actions couldn't go without something...it had stuck in the back of his mind since the fall ended. "Will you ask Macuith for he and his to meet us here when their lessons are done?" Takarath gave the mental equivalent of a nod. Macuith, my blue son, when you and yours are done with your lessons, mine would like to see yours in his office.

I hope this is okay....

The blue rider wasn't often prone to moping, but the day's previous Fall had kept him in a low-key state of distress. He was angry at himself for his multiple failed Firestone tosses. He didn't know how he managed to muck up so badly -- he wasn't some new, starry eyed weyrling. This wasn't even his first Threadfall! And yet, somewhere up there, he had choked.

We did the best we could. I doubt anyone will hold yesterday against you. Macuith sent a confident wave of affection to His, hoping to distract his rider from his upset.

C'lusi gave a snort. "I don't know, Mac. We're not far from graduation, and if we can't even land a solid Firestone toss..." He sighed, stepping forward to lean against his beloved blue's head. The dragon's eyes whirled a happy blue-green, and he gave a small puff of cool breath on his rider's face. C'lusi shut his eyes, taking comfort in his dragon, trying to ignore the bite of pain in his shoulders. It was all Macuith's pain, for the blue had been scored upon his back near the end of Threadfall. Both rider and dragon weren't feeling a hundred percent, but V'mel had cut their lessons short to give the group time to recuperate, both physically, and emotionally. As far as C'lusi figured, no one had come out unscathed in the weyrling wing -- not even V'mel.

"See if R'sha--"

Macuith's eyes suddenly changed color, and a sense of both pleasure and alarm caused the young man to stop. "What's wrong?"

The blue said nothing for a long moment before quietly relaying Takarath's request.

C'lusi went pale, mouth suddenly going dry, and a new surge of irritation and despair gripped him. V'kenti was a Wingleader, and getting summoned to his office wasn't likely for anything good. Especially when he'd humiliated himself in front of him not once, but twice, the day previous. "Er.... Tell them we're on our way." He informed Macuith, sucking in a breath. Whatever could they want? Probably a lecture of some sort. Probably some sort of chewing out, or dressing down.

Macuith, for his part, sent Takarath a much more confident answer. He couldn't help but be pleased that the bronze had remembered that he was indeed one of his sons, and even made mention of their connection. Well, he was the smooth talker of the clutch, and surely must have inherited it from the bronze dragon himself. Lessons were cut short today. We'll be over soon! His pleasure was palpable, despite his own rider's uncertainty.

Sure enough, not long after the message was relayed, the blue glided from his ledge to drop off His. He gave Takarath a happy bugle in greeting, trying hard not to show any fatigue or pain. The scoring on his back and wings still hurt immensely, but the blue dragon would have been appalled to look nothing but his best in front of Takarath. By the time C'lusi slid down from Macuith's shoulder, and limped his way to the door of V'kenti's office, he was still looking pale. Still, he steeled his shoulders, put on a serious look, and knocked on the door.

Well... any lecture he got would be well deserved. He'd shamed himself yesterday, and as a blue rider, he felt he'd let those of his color and rank down, too. He wasn't unaware of the Weyr's color bias, after all.
