Ulix had managed to be fast asleep again by the time the pair returned, which was for the best. Argoth wanted this to be a wonderful surprise for his rider, and wonderful surprises didn't half flop onto the ledge all winded and emotional for an entrance

An early waker in spite of the night before, the brown stretched his neck beyond the hills of Kindeth's body and rested his head atop it to watch the weyr stir with the sun. His throat was a little sore from the singing exercise it received; hopefully Keris would be understanding when he visited her later. It wasn't the worst way to wake up, though. Argoth loved to huddle with others where he could, and at least for the moment his previous Flightlust-tinged memories felt far away, belonging to some other idiot brown. He had a new shiny friend! This was very important.

His Ulix was yawning and stretching some time later, half asleep and entangled with a pretty blonde. Argoth sent warm thoughts his way in greeting, and they exchanged mutual feelings of contentedness with their companions.

Told you you'd win, Ulix sent sleepily as he rolled over, considering ignoring the day a little more.

Yes, I have someone, Argoth replied with hidden glee, anticipating the moment His would come see.

Kindeth had not returned to his ledge, though Cynosuth had chosen another. The bronze had been disappointed, but not surprised. The starry green dragon could have had anyone in the Weyr -- there was no reason for her to pick a bronze like him. He was large -- very large -- and very strong. But he wasn't the smartest of dragons, which seemed to mean he was not very good mate material.... Cynosuth had been one of the few to not seem to mind his company or conversation. Though a part of the bronze had hoped... well. It was probably better this way. Aresoth was a crafty bronze, and had managed to be there when the green needed him most.

Still, he had found companionship, most unexpectedly. The dragon Argoth -- the one who had seemed to sing for Cyno -- had turned his way and brought him back to his weyr. There had been no reason to be left alone, after all, and his own rider wouldn't miss him from their ledge.

Now that morning had broken, the bronze dragon found himself comfortable and warm. There was a neck resting upon him, and opening an eye, he remained still, so as not to disturb the other's comfort. No, he would keep himself curled up and as still as stone. His body ached, his wings were sore, and though he almost wondered about Cynosuth, his thoughts instead drifted towards his current company. He didn't know Argoth well at all, and wondered what the other might wish of him. Would he kick him out soon? Would he want to talk and cuddle more? There was a lot Kindeth didn't know, but for now, he'd simply remain still and wait. If nothing else, maybe he'd make a new friend out of it.

Finally, deciding it might be rude, he did reach out telepathically to touch the other's mind. Just a brief brush of affection and warmth; a small sensation, to let the other know he was awake. Good morning. And it was a good morning, indeed. Waking up with someone near was always a nice feeling, as far as Kindeth was concerned. Maybe Argoth would be nice, and become a new friend, if nothing else.
