▶ Potions ~ EE
Potion was just one of the classes he was just ambivalent about. You know, just a class that he needs to get over with. Barry studied a fair share of it with his study groupmates and thankfully he got an EE out of it.
▶ Transfiguration ~ EE
Barry liked the subject because he liked the pressure and the math in this magic field, even if he's not super gifted about it. After a lot of practice and effort, he managed to get an EE just a-okay.
▶ Astronomy ~ EE
Barry found this subject unnecessary, especially when he felt like he was back to being in his muggle school again. He only got an EE because he only studied a little with the combination of stock knowledge. That's how he didn't like Astronomy as he was usually a hardworking guy. Actually, he was one point away from being an Acceptabble, lucky him!
▶ History of Magic ~ A
Is Barry intelligent academically speaking? Yes. Is he good at doing memorization of dates, people, events, and history? Not really. Similar to Astronomy, Barry is pretty mediocre about this subject and unless it's about inventions, he won't care about wars and whatever mistakes historical wizards do for their "lack of a morality compass at the time". That being said, he wasn't too worried about getting a mere Acceptable in the test- because he did made a good effort in studying it.

▶ Herbology ~ EE
Barry liked herbology just because he liked one, getting his hands dirty and two, outdoors. Also, he honestly wanted to rub it on Professor Hill: the person Barry either wanted to act petty at, or just plain scared at him. So yeah, he did his good effort in the subject and got an okay EE. Now, he just couldn't wait to drop it once he's sure that his dream job didn't require magic plants.

▶ Alchemy ~ EE
Barry loved alchemy, especially when chemistry and spells are involved. Sure, he's not that gifted but his passion and dedication make up for it. In fact, he would often read a lot about alchemy magic in his spare time. So it's not that hard for him to get a high EE.
▶ Wandless Magic ~ EE
Barry took it because he wanted to have a knack of utility skills, as well as how it's supposedly in his blood to perform magic without a need of a wand, but the class itself seemed to love telling him that he just wasn't good at it. And his skill is just. Mediocre. But because he vaguely didn't want to disgrace his dad, who was an alum in a school supposedly known for being good at wandless, Barry worked his arse on this subject. Fortunately, it paid off!
