As the pair came approached the borderlands Calavera mother seemed to gain speed. She smiled brightly at him before taunting him to a face. Calavera stamped his hoves against the ground and pushed hard against the earth. His mother had created the family tradition of racing against each other. Sometimes she would even let him win. Racing was in his blood, though at times like this he missed the presence of his brother. It was more fun when the whole family raced against each other. As Regin sprinted ahead of him she tossed her head back in an almost arrogant manner "You owe me a boon!" Calavera playfully groaned and wondered what task his mother would give him when she collected her boon. Sometimes she would ask him to collect rare fruit for her. Other times her tasks were simpler like wearing a ridiculous accessory or making him listen to the stories about his parents first met.
"Aunt Regin," a voice nearby spoke. Calavera eyes widened in shock as the owner of the voice came into sight. It was one of Dacians girls, the last time he had seen the girls had been when they were tiny foals.
