xXx Akira Yamazaki's OWLs xXx
Core Classes:
♒︎ Astronomy OWL - A
- Astronomy was boring. Extremely boring. He fell asleep more often than he stayed awake, and never took notes. However, Akira managed to get an Acceptable, mostly because he did a quick study session before the week of exams.
♒︎ Charms OWL - O
- Charms was actually pretty cool. at least according to Akira. It wasn't all repetition and memorizing facts, things that Akira despised at times despite being able to remember things like that. As a result, he got an Outstanding.
♒︎ Defence Against the Dark Arts OWL - O
- Akira really loved Defence Against the Dark Arts. It was practical, and hands-on, both things Akira could easily appreciate. As a result, he got an Outstanding on his exam.
♒︎ Herbology OWL - A
- Akira did not like Herbology. His professor, as Akira called him, was an a*****e. He payed as little attention to the professor as he could, and therefore only got an Acceptable.
♒︎ History of Magic OWL - A
- Akira sometimes wondered how exactly the History of Magic professor hadn't somehow dropped over dead from boredom. Akira figured that he could have, easily. As a result, he got an Acceptable.
♒︎ Potions OWL - A
- Not that Potions was hard for Akira. It wasn't, really. It was just like cooking. However, he didn't exactly do much cooking, and tended to burn things as a result at times. Therefore he only got an Acceptable.
♒︎ Transfiguration OWL - O
- Transfiguration was the subject that Akira latched onto instantly when he walked in and spotted the equations on the board his first day. It was math, magical math, but math nonetheless. He lived and breathed math. Therefore, he got an Outstanding.
Elective Classes:
♒︎ Alchemy OWL - O
- Alchemy, in Akira's mind, was almost basically chemistry in his mind. Especially since he knew the origin of the word chemistry was basically alchemy. As a result, he did very well in the class, and got an Outstanding.
♒︎ Arithmancy OWL - A
- Arithmancy, in Akira's mind, was magical math gone wrong. How could they screw it up so bad? He couldn't believe that someone could make math boring, and yet somehow they had managed it. Therefore, Akira only got an Acceptable because he couldn't be bothered to learn much about the hows and the whys of the numbers, only how they went together and how to calculate it all out.
♒︎ Muggle Studies OWL - O
- Akira, when he entered the class, thought that Muggle Studies was going to be the class he'd have the most fun in. In hindsight, it was true, kind of, but only because he ended up arguing with the professor every class. He didn't like how the class didn't actually teach the science behind muggle devices, and nearly had apoplexies any time something was wrong that he absolutely had to correct the professor on. As a result, he actually managed an Outstanding, much to what Akira thought was his professor's horror.
♒︎ Wandless Magic Practice Class OWL - O
- Wandless magic. Ever since Akira had heard about it and experienced it when his parents died, he'd always wanted to find out how it worked. What it did. As a result, he practiced long and hard, working on it constantly until he was confident in his abilities. Therefore, he got an Outstanding.
