The barely restrained joy emanating from his rider's mind made Aleyath want to sing. His eyes swirled a cheery blue as he meandered toward the beach, paying less attention to his surroundings than he normally would have as he went. He had thought he might spend the afternoon sunning himself, but all he really wanted was to soar around the weyr, trumpeting with giddy glee. Had he known that the human hatchling's arrival would have brought O'len such relief, he would have tried to get Maela to clutch weeks ago.
Normally he gave his pale sister a respectfully wide berth, not because he disliked her more or less than any other dragon, but because he had the distinct feeling that she disliked him. Today, however, he didn't really care. Aleyath saw, and Aleyath approached.
Brancath! Hello! How are you? What are you doing? The brown trotted closer but not too close, a sliver of his usual wariness still in effect.
