xxxASTRONOMY ~ Axxx

■ Kiery, for all her brains, can be a bit of a ditz. She gets information confused very easily, and tends to get her wires crossed when ti comes to things like names and numbers. Her courses that were more information-based than magic-based suffered as a result of this, and Astronomy was no exception. She did a little better here than in some since she had background knowledge, but not enough to make much of a difference.

xxxCHARMS ~ EExxx

■ Charms was easily Kiery's best magic class, with her struggling very little in the beginning and then not much at all later on. She wasn't perfect, of course, some of her spells lacking oomph, and her memory again was something of a problem when it came to the written. Still, she did quite well on the exam.

xxxDEFENSE AGAINST THE DARK ARTS ~ Axxx

■ Kiery found this class interesting, but she wasn't especially good at it. She's naturally disinclined to anything violent, so it was hard for her to do well at a class that was inherently so, even in the name of protecting herself. She managed to pass the exam, but it was a close thing.

xxxHERBOLOGY ~ Axxx

■ Kiery doesn't have her guardian's green thumb, rather unfortunately. She found the professor rather intimidating, so she strove to do well in his class and avoid his wrath, but she wasn't exactly a natural. Her only saving grace was that she had no trouble getting dirty, and was quite gentle with the plants. Her memory was once again the deciding factor; she's rather forgetful, and it can lead to accidents at times.

xxxHISTORY OF MAGIC ~ Axxx

■ Dates and names are always a struggle for Kiery, making history her own personal circle of hell. She tried, really, but she came into the course with no base knowledge aside from what she'd read in the month before starting school, which she'd already begun struggling to keep straight. Her years in the class didn't do much to help. Professor Powell was a good teacher, but she wasn't a very good student. She passed the exam with a reasonably acceptable grade.

xxxPOTIONS ~ EExxx

■ Potions was honestly Kiery's best course, at least of her core classes. She had problems with her memory as always, but since they were generally working from a set of instructions, she did better. It was easier to keep track of where she was when she organized herself, which was something she was skilled at doing in this case. Her exam suffered slightly from the written, but her potion was just about perfect.

xxxTRANSFIGURATION ~ Axxx

■ Kiery isn't quite sure how she passed this one, to be honest. She outright refused to do the practical, not having the heart to vanish a kitten, even if she'd been confident that she could accomplish it, which she was not. The written exam was an exercise in torture, and she barely managed to get enough answers correct to pass the exam.

xxxALCHEMY ~ Axxx

■ Kiery did well enough on the Potions portion of this class that it more or less made up for her abysmal performance on the wandwork. The exam wasn't an especially easy one, but she managed to ride her potions skills on the practical to get a passing score.

xxxART ~ Oxxx

■ This was, without a doubt, Kiery's best class. Two of her three guardians are extremely artistic people, and they have passed that on to her. History wasn't always easy for her, but it was easier to remember which artist went with which style than simply trying to match names and dates in most history classes. She's also quite skilled, and enjoys practicing in her free time.

xxxCARE OF MAGICAL CREATURES ~ EExxx

■ Kiery likes animals, and always has. So, a class about magical animals drew her like possibly no other class in the school. She had trouble keeping information straight sometimes, as always, but it was easy enough for her to sort things out when she was properly motivated. Seeing as she was always motivated to properly care for and interact with the creatures, she did quite well in this class.

xxxDIVINATION ~ EExxx

■ Kiery liked this class, but it made her feel a little homesick, and not for the home she could return to. Professor Somerset reminded her of a few of the members of her old coven, and it was somewhat hard to focus when she was thinking about people she'd never see again. Of course, she had some experience in this area even before coming to Hogwarts, as misguided as it might've been. Her real struggle was sorting through what was real, and what was mistaken beliefs held by muggles. Still, she seemed to have something of a gift, and did well in the class.

xxxHEALING ~ Axxx

■ Kiery wanted to be good at this class, but it was rather complicated magic, and she struggled a lot. She wasn't terrible, but her skills certainly left a lot to be desired. She did well in the class and on the exam through sheer determination, because she reasoned that this was something incredibly useful and helpful to be good at.

xxxMYTHOLOGY ~ Axxx

■ Kiery was better at mythology than she was at history, but only just. She still struggled with remembering things, especially when dealing with the myths of the magical world, which were completely new to her. Her grades were boosted somewhat whenever they delved into muggle myths, since her coven obviously taught her a lot about plenty of old myths and gods, but it wasn't quite enough to bring her above an A.

xxxSTUDY OF ANCIENT RUNES ~ Axxx

■ Kiery barely managed to pass this exam. She struggled with this course more than any others, truth be told, because it was all based on information and trying to remember what symbol went with what language and what meaning. She studied for the exam because to her, it was utterly unacceptable to fail even one exam, but it was only enough to grant her a barely passing grade.

xxxWANDLESS MAGIC PRACTICE CLASS ~ Axxx

■ Kiery was experienced in the art of meditation, so she did alright at this class overall. But, she was fairly average at magic in general, so taking her wand away didn't help matters any. Her spells when performed wandlessly always lacked a lot of power, and she could only successfully cast them about half the time. She passed the exam with a reasonably good grade.

xxxWANDLORE STUDIES ~ Axxx

■ There was, frankly, far too much information to take in for this course for poor Kiery to process. She found it fascinating, of course, and so she applied herself quite rigorously to her studies. But she had a very hard time organizing the information in her brain, and her grades suffered for it. The exam went well enough, but her performance was quite average.

■ Kiery kept this class mostly because she felt weird dropping so many courses, and because she was keeping Divination. It made sense, she figured, since one of the methods of Divination she was most interested in was Astrology, even though she struggled with it. She applied herself this year, and the significant drop in the number of courses she was taking certainly helped.

xxxCHARMS ~ Axxx

■ Kiery realized pretty early on that she's not the most skilled at wandwork. Still, of the wandwork classes, this was both her best one, and the one involving magic she thought she was most likely to use most often. So, she kept the class and applied herself. She was just a couple marks short of an EE on the exam, which she was rather pleased about.

xxxHERBOLOGY ~ Axxx

■ This was another course she kept both to avoid dropping 'too many', and because it would help with another. Her best core class had always been Potions, so it made sense for her to continue on in Herbology as well, even if she wasn't great at it. The decrease in classes helped some, although not as much here as in other places, since she was still pretty much terrified of Professor Hill.

xxxPOTIONS ~ EExxx

■ Kiery had a knack for Potions, though she frequently suffered from a short attention span and forgot what step she was on, or how many times she's stirred her cauldron. Her natural talent offset these limitations more often than not, and she was a perfectly adequate, slightly above average potioneer.

xxxART ~ Oxxx

■ This was Kiery's best class, without question. She rather liked the professor, and enjoyed getting to stretch her creative muscles more than she did in other courses. She's not the best artist exactly, but certainly not the worst. Her main problem is usually that she's a bit reckless and ends up with a lot of 'happy little accidents' that she then has to figure out how to work around. Her passion also results in this being one of the few courses where her wires don't get crossed with regards to names and the like.

xxxCARE OF MAGICAL CREATURES ~ EExxx

■ Kiery likes animals, and finds that she likes magical ones even more than regular ones. Having an actual living thing relying on her means she focuses more on keeping her information straight, though she'd be lying if she said she didn't mess up now and again. It's mostly confusing names of the smaller creatures, types of pixies and the like, that tends to trip her up.

xxxDIVINATION ~ EExxx

■ Kiery has a love/hate relationship with this course, because it's one that she finds comfortable, but that comfort results in a few mistakes here and there. Her upbringing resulted in a lot of misinformation that she has to constantly check herself on, so it sometimes takes twice as long as it ought to for her to interpret something correctly. Still, she's quite confident in her ability, and interested enough that the lessons tend to stick.
