Could this be the end?
His words were echoing throughout his subconscious as he took that heavy blow from the Dark Knight reeling him back from the force. Angelou staggered shaking his head as the faint taste of crimson saturated his mouth with a distaste worse than defeat. His own retort was merely a fly bite compared to the force that pushed him back causing his very willpower to control the scrambling of hooves back to Whinny. She too had received a blow as sharp as him, staggering in unison. Retrieving the small amount of blood on his tongue he spat it out in defiance, "Kick us, beat us down" he called out at the Knight, "You will always be a coward in the Forgemaster's shadow! So what if he's better then you, everyone has sheer differences in themselves. Wake up and realize you could be as great as he his on your own terms selling wares elsewhere! "
Angelou stumbled feeling weak but he dared not succumb to that feeling for his heart cried out to Whinny refusing to let her be destroyed in his absence. Shaking off the fatigue Angelou straightened himself, going to her side once more, "I'll fight for you Whinny until my dying breath I will always protect you". Lowering his head he glared t the Dark Knight feeling nothing but a resonating aura flow through him standing near her. Yes, he would protect her even in death. This was his purpose, his dream, to protect and fight ridding the world of chaotic evil.

Angelou witnessed bravery like non-other that inspired his heart to glow radiantly as the huge body of the knight crashed heavily upon the ground. Limping toward the body he inspected for anything indicating the dark knight was merely keeping quiet for an attack. Stepping lightly he leaned down toward the great muzzle listening for life which seemed exhaled and deadly quiet. Ears swiveling he finally concluded this brute was either severely unconscious or had passed onward to the darkness that had consumed him.
Limping back to Whinny he laid his larger head upon hers he shrunk, legs collapsing in fatigue besides her closely. His own wings once shining were tattered in a limp but nothing drastic, for he would heal in time. For now, they would rest regaining their strength to make the trek back to the Foremaster. It had been a weary day indeed, placing both in perils but accomplished a task worthy of Godric's praise. Grunting he closed his eyes then drifted off to a dreamless sleep devoid of any conflict. Just, simplicity and quiet save for the breathing of Whinny who rested beside him.
Finally rested Angelou, with Whinny by his side returned to the Forgemaster carrying a piece of his armor stained in blood, It was unknown if the brute would ever be coherent again with Whinny's final blow to the side of his head. Angelou only hoped he'd awaken with the knowledge he had instilled even in the Dark Knight's madness. Placing the armor on the table Angelou spoke, "It is done. I do not know if he survived this ordeal, but in the case he has I don't think he will be a bother to you anymore". Angelou then took the coins placing then in his pouch. Now he turned to Whinny, "The quest is complete. Now we can query around and see if anyone has seen your special person".
Turning then he thanked the Forgemaster then exited the tent stepping out into the Faire once again.
