(( Backlogged before bastions fall ))
There had been electricity in the den when she'd gotten back on the evening her father had unleashed the news of Rana's pregnancy. Her mother had been betrayed by Bast'ion and his promise and Na'anu was not sure she could forgive him.
In truth, Na'anu did not know the type of male Bast'ion was before her birth only that he'd been rough. He'd been rough, sure, when she was growing up but not as bad as a lot of the males with in the pride. At least, not in front of his family. He'd been a good and loyal father in her eyes who only wanted what was best for his family. That was until this bombshell of news had gone off and now her mother was heart broken. Na'anu couldn't help but reflect back upon when she was growing up during the famine and how sick Yhe had been and Bast'ion had been so dutiful then. But now Na'anu only had questions.
That news had come to pass a few evenings ago and the questions only kept multiplying like rabbits in her head. At the base of all the questions laid the real question which was her fathers commitment to the family. And what that meant was herself, her sister and her mother. Yes, Bast'ion had family before her and her sister were born but Na'anu and Na'ani had been raised a bit more elevated than the rest. It was no secret that Na'anu and Na'ani were Bast'ions favorite, in part, because they looked so much like their mother whom he adored.
Na'anu needed some fresh air away from the den to clear her head. In tow, her faithful jackal walked beside her looking ever leery and alert of the environment around them. This cautious behavior was not lost on Na'anu as she watched Thanos from the side of her eye.
"What has you so on your toes?" Her voice was a hushed calm whisp of a sound.
"This prides regime change. Females are looked upon as lesser." Thanos's voice was a low growl. Na'anu could only roll her eyes at his comment. It had never mattered to her much if she could or couldn't become a reaver as such things were trivial to her.
"We are of status. There is no need to worry ." With that statement she was done. There was no more to say except that. While she was angry with her father she knew that her and her sister were perfectly safe with claim to his status. Their father was a reaver even if their mother was a thrall so there was no need to worry.
