- ■ Charley didn't care about this class. Not enough to pay attention, and not enough to make sure she stayed awake to get to it. It's honestly only because she's actually a pretty smart kid that she didn't completely bomb the exam. Still, she managed to fail it, if only just.
xxxCHARMS ~ EExxx
- ■ Charley's performance in her lessons was largely determined by how much she cared. So, the less she cared, the poorer she did. As such, courses that she considered useful but boring generally had above average, but still not amazing, results. Charms was a course that was pretty hit or miss as far as being interesting, but it was useful enough that she paid attention in class and did her homework at least most of the time.
xxxDEFENSE AGAINST THE DARK ARTS ~ Axxx
- ■ Charley was pretty good at this class when she applied herself; the trouble was, she didn't apply herself all that often. She did well enough to pass and could probably defend herself in an altercation, but her heart wasn't especially in it. She's more prone to choosing 'flight' of the fight or flight options, and only focused on this class enough to know the basics for if she found herself in a pinch.
xxxHERBOLOGY ~ EExxx
- ■ Charley liked Professor Hill, because he reminded her of her uncle. She also liked this class, because it was mostly about focusing on what you were doing with a plant and not interacting with other people. Charley likes plants, because they are quiet (most of the time; she hates Mandrakes) and require a lot of interesting technical knowledge to handle. She finds that working with plants is a nice way to focus her attention, and performed quite well in this class and on the exam.
xxxHISTORY OF MAGIC ~ Pxxx
- ■ Charley couldn't care less about history if she tried. She gets that it's supposed to be important, but given that she has very little intention of ever doing anything that would make her a notable figure in it herself, she fails to see how repeating the sins of her forefathers is all that big a deal. So, she tended to zone out in class, and often skipped it.
xxxPOTIONS ~ EExxx
- ■ Potions is a lot like Herbology, in that it's a typically quiet lesson where Charley was usually left to her own devices. She's very patient, as a rule, and anything that requires intense focus to get minute details right is her friend. While it's not necessarily her favorite class, it is one that kept her attention (she wasn't interested in the possibility of blowing anything up), and so she did quite well on her exam.
xxxTRANSFIGURATION ~ Oxxx
- ■ This class was a technical challenge, and Charley was never one to pass that sort of thing up. So, unlike most of her classes, she focused very intently on doing well in this one. She has a head for numbers, which helped, and has little trouble with focusing or with small details. Coupled with the fact that she found it useful for all sorts of things, and she was determined to excel in the course.

- ■ Charley took this class more because of her uncle's interest than her own. As such, she wanted to do well in it... at first. But as the years went on and she felt less and less connected to her uncle, she found herself caring less about the course. She had a fairly decent grasp of the fundamentals, but didn't concern herself overmuch with the later lessons.
xxxARITHMANCY ~ EExxx
- ■ Honestly, Charley probably could've managed a perfect score in this class if she'd applied herself. Unfortunately, she found it dreadfully boring as often as not, and so she didn't expend too much effort on doing well.
xxxCURSEBREAKING ~ Oxxx
- ■ This was a class that, like Transfiguration, appealed to Charley's desire to meet a challenge. She considered it to be like solving puzzles, which she is quite fond of doing. Given her propensity for breaking locks, it's hardly surprising she would both be interested in, and excel at, breaking curses.
xxxDIVINATION ~ Axxx
- ■ This was a class taken more out of morbid curiosity than anything else. Charley found it surprisingly interesting, but she wasn't particularly good at it. While she was good at focusing on things like crystal balls and the like, she had a lot of trouble with interpretation due to her somewhat literal frame of mind.
xxxGHOUL AND GHOST STUDIES ~ Axxx
- ■ Another class taken because of her uncle; she honestly thought it would be more interesting than it was. Not the most boring of lessons, but it was hardly as exciting as all that, and she found herself applying less and less of her focus to it as the years went on. By the time OWLs rolled around, she had been skipping class frequently and barely managed to pass the exam.
xxxMYTHOLOGY ~ Axxx
- ■ Charley is honestly not even sure how she managed to pass this one; it's a little more interesting than History, she supposes, but she certainly doesn't care about the class. She isn't even entirely certain why she signed up for the course in the first place. She passed the exam by all of one question.
xxxSTUDY OF ANCIENT RUNES ~ Axxx
- ■ This class suffered from being similar to history, but benefited from being like solving puzzles. As such, Charley's performance tended to fall squarely in the 'adequate' range. She didn't slack off as much as she did in some other classes, but her attention certainly drifted as often as not. It helps that she has some skill and interest in languages; had she applied herself, she could have done quite well. As it is, she passed with a perfectly average score.
xxxWANDLESS MAGIC PRACTICE CLASS ~ Oxxx
- ■ Charley has never had trouble focusing, and she's not an emotional person as a rule, so this course was quite easy for her. She enjoyed the challenge, and had little trouble with the parts that give most students trouble. For her, the issue was generally avoiding being bored; but, the class was challenging enough that this rarely came up.
