Ever since he was little, Gus has been cautious about everything in the world. He knows what makes him sick and what could potentially cause him injury, and avoids them as best he can. Of course, he still gets hurt sometimes, but he adapts to take better precautions in the future.
⇾Pʟᴀʏꜰᴜʟ:
Much like his father, Gus loves playing games, usually by his own invention. He enjoys drawing others into his games, even if they have no idea what he's playing. He also loves telling silly jokes and stories, though they don't usually make much sense.
⇾Tʀᴜsᴛɪɴɢ:
Thanks to spending a majority of his young life at the doctors and hospital, Gus has become very trusting, particularly toward adults. He believes no one would ever do harm upon him intentionally, and isn't afraid of much, since he believes others will always protect him.
⇾Dᴇᴛᴇʀᴍɪɴᴇᴅ:
Whether in his health or his smarts, Gus is determined to be better. He likes to work with his dad, even though he honestly has no real idea what's going on. It makes him feel better when he makes himself do difficult tasks, specifically when he figures out how to do them all by himself.
⇾Wɪᴛᴛʏ:
Gus has gotten good at sarcastic comebacks, though they're almost entirely harmless. He's great at thinking on the fly, and figuring out the perfect things to say and do in any situation.
⇾Pᴜɴᴄᴛᴜᴀʟ:
Due to his need for medicines and breathing treatments, Gus has become incredibly punctual. He's good at keeping time, and he is adamant that if he's ever on time, he's running late.

Augustus was born in the midst of a parental feud, too young to survive without the help of the nurses and doctors at the hospital. He had issues with his heart and lungs, so he was in the NICU for four months before he was released to be with his dad. His mother had left before he was released, so the only parent he's ever known has been his father. Luckily, his dad resorted to stay-at-home work to be with Gus. As he grew, Gus was still plagued with issues with his heart and lungs, so he had to return to the doctor frequently, and he spent several days in the hospital when medicine didn't properly help. Now he's learned to help take care of himself a bit, even knowing which times he needs to take his medicine and do his breathing treatments.

Despite confusing love (mis)connections in his dad's life, Gus has been lucky to always have the man by his side. Until, of course, his eleventh birthday, where he was given his Hogwarts letter. While he was excited to get to go to the magical castle, he was also terribly nervous to leave his dad all on his own. He'd never so much as stayed away for more than three nights, so the thought of going off for months was not something Gus was particularly keen on. Luckily, Zavier was able to talk to his son and encourage him, so Gus is looking forward to Hogwarts, despite being nervous.
