Past
The pack's ancestors protected the lands for generations. It was a peaceful time and the pack flourished. Without warning, the mountains became angry, spewing fire and ash into the air. The wildlife suffered greatly as the lands were covered in thick ash. Most of the wolves died due to illness, starvation, and dehydration. Those that did survived learned to adapt and live in their new world. Their pelts changed as the ash covered them, turning them from various shades of gray and black.
Recent Events
A strange illness struck the peaceful pack of the Ash Fallen. One of the mind. As time went on, the darker pelts became vibrant one more, shedding the dull grays and blacks. Unfortunately, the Alpha male, whose pelt was as white as snow, fell victim to this illness, leaving his youngest son to lead the pack. Conflict raged among the pack, dividing between those who believe in their former Alpha's word and those who believe the elder son should take over.
The Elders of the Pack devised a plan to remove both brothers from the pack. On the eve of the younger son's Alpha raise to take over, he was chased out of his pack, not knowing that the Elders had planned on killing him and his brother so they could pick who they thought would be the rightful Alpha.
Laws
- No naming restrictions. You can name whatever you like as long as it's Kell approved. - No color restrictions. Most of the pack it either black, gray, or white, but that doesn't mean there can't be any color in there! - Outsiders are always welcomed granted they are non-threatening. - The healers are obligated to help all those that are ill, including Outsiders and other animals. - There is no Familiar restrictions. All are welcomed. - There will be NO bright dyes on Scouts, otherwise dyes are welcomed. - No killing or abusive behavior. This is grounds for banishment. - No stealing or fighting over space. The den is big enough to hold a large number of animals. This is also grounds for banishment if fighting becomes a common thing.
Seers Seers are considered speakers of the dead and are in high regard. They're treated much differently then other pack members. Although most seers become seekers, they can be whatever they want.
What to Expect The Ash Fallen isn't by any means pushovers or Pacifists. They do value peace and try to treat everyone with generosity and kindness. However, they're also a force to be reckoned with. There are many stories about their fighting abilities and should never be underestimated.
Path to Adulthood This quest an be one of many lessons a pup learns as they become an adult. It could be anything, as long as the pup learns something from this experience.
Succession Succession to Alpha is done through bloodlines. If the current alpha can't live up to the title, someone from his bloodline may takeover.
Mates and Breeding Mates among the Ash Fallen are generally for a lifetime. Normally, mates are between one male and one female, however, same sex mates are permitted. Keep in mind, the pack needs pups. Pups are the future of the pack.
Breeding. It has always been a long tradition that until the Alpha pair breed successfully, there will be no other breedings. River, however, changed this. There isn't any breeding restrictions. If a female doesn't fancy a male of the pack, she is permitted to find what she believes would be a suitable male to breed with. Pups are raised by the whole pack, not just by their mother. Having "new blood" within the pack is permitted. Males may also breed outside the pack if they do not fancy someone, however, they are encourage to persuade the rogue female to join the pack so they aren't raising pups on their own.
Familiars There are rules to familiars. Granted, there all are welcomed, but if you have a certain position in the pack you want, there are Familiar Limitations.

From the mountain to the north, to the forest to the south is the Ash Fallen territory
Entrance: This is the main entrance to the inside of the Ash Fallen den. There are tales of secret entrance, but only the Alpha's know where this entrance is.
Path to Adulthood Wall: Once pups are old enough, they will go the "Quest of Adulthood." Once they have successfully completed this quest, they may place they're ashen paw print on this wall and be considered a full fledged adult, like so many before them.
Main Den: The Main Den is where the rest of the pack sleeps and lives.
Nursery: Pregnant or nursing females may rest here until they believe their pups are strong enough to mingle with the rest of the pack.
Alpha's Den: This is where the Alpha, Alpha's mate, Beta and the Beta's Mate sleep. Betas doesn't have to stay there if they don't want to.
Story Place: Elders of the pack use this space to tell stories of the pack's history, or if they just want to entertain the pack.
Healer's Den: The healer's den is separated from the main den. This is where injured or sick wolves stay until they recover or die. There is also tales of a secret entrance to this cave as well, but only Alphas and the Head Healer knows where it is.
Familiar's Den
This is where most of the familiars will sleep. It's a separate den that's really close to the main wolf den.
