JESSICA's OWLs

Core Classes

Astronomy : A

Jess considered Astronomy to be one of your basic classes. As such she didn't see it coming in handy when it come down to a career.
That didn't mean she was going to let her grade slip because she didn't view it as important as some of her other classes. Thus she managed to pass with an Acceptable grade.

Charms : O

Charms ran in the Avery family and since she was half that it was no surprise that she excelled with Charms.
Obtaining an Outstanding grade, Jess was more then ready to continue into advanced classes.

Defence Against the Dark Arts : E

Jess found she wasn't completely terrible with defensive magic. Though that didn't stop her from struggling against the boggart portion of her practical.
Luckily she managed to still manage to Exceed Expectations despite her struggles.

Herbology : E

Practically Herbology wasn't Jess' strongest subject. Book wise she could tell you pretty much anything within reason.
It was thanks to her written portion of her exam that she managed to Exceed Expectations which was a relief given her career plans.

History of Magic : E

History wasn't one of those majorly important classes. However, Jessica was pretty good when it came down to studying it.
Thus when it came down to doing her OWL exam she managed to walk away Exceeding Expectations.

Potions : O

Jessica during her beginning years of Hogwarts discovered she had a talent for potions. Enjoying the subject, she spent a lot of time improving when ever she found herself stuck.
All her hard work paid off as she came way with an Outstanding grade.

Transfiguration : E

Transfigurations was a challenge but a challenge Jess was willing to work on. She put a lot into her studies in order to improve.
Managed to Exceed Expectations, Jess was grateful that she was able to continue in the subject.

Electives

Arithmancy : O

Arithmancy was one of those easy classes that Jessica thought she could take. It was math and as it turned out the Ravenclaw was actually pretty good at it.
Not expecting the grade she got, she was shocked to come away with an Outstanding grade.

Care of Magical Creatures : E

Jessica took Magical Creatures so she could learn about some of the creatures in the magical world.
However, she really didn't have a big desire to work with them any longer then she had too. Truthfully she only took the class to learn about the damage some of them could cause.
With her study habits she managed to at least Exceed Expectations.

Cursebreaking : E

Cursebreaking was just one of those classes Jess took. She came to think it might be handy and worked to get a good grade in the class.
Gaining an Exceeding Expectations, she was more then satisfied with her work.

Healing : E

Jess always saw herself following in her father's footsteps. So when electives were chosen she went for healing. She pushed herself to do well even if she wasn't the best in her class.
With dedication she managed to learn the steps, the spells, and the technique to being a decent healer. Coming way Exceeding Expectations, she was more then impressed.

Muggle Studies : O

Why muggle studies was a mandatory elective for the Mitchell family was beyond Jessica. Luckily she didn't complain.
She went to class, she did the work, and she found it extremely easy. The Ravenclaw expected nothing less then an Outstanding grade when all was said and done.

Music : O

Jess was a natural when it came to music. She learned piano at an early age and picked it up rather well. She even convinced her parents into letting her play the harp.
So when it came time to pick electives, Music was first on the list. Coming way with an Outstanding grade it really came as no surprise to her.

Study of Ancient Runes : O

Ancient Runes was one of those classes that stole Jessica's interest. She took the class out of interest and soon found out that she really enjoyed it.
Spending a lot of time looking over the material just because she could, it was no surprise that she managed to obtain an Outstanding grade.

Wizard Law : A

Wizard Law wasn't a large passion of Jessica's. Actually she began questioning why she took the subject after her first year.
However that wasn't going to stop her from flunking out of the subject. So when it came time to do her OWL examination, she at least could say she came out of it with an Acceptable grade.

JESSICA's NEWTs

Core Classes

Charms : O

To even begin to think that Charms would change in grade at all for Jess was almost laughable.
She continued to excel with even the most complexed charm spells. As such she managed to maintain her Outstanding grade from OWL.

Defence Against the Dark Arts : E

Defence was still not Jessica's love interest as far as classes went. However, she needed the grade in order to get somewhere in life.
Both of her more notable career choices required a high grade. So, Jess hit the books and practiced until not even her own boggart could stop her from getting by.
Managing to stick an Exceeding Expectations to her resume was all she really was asking for anyways.

Herbology : E

Jess was not a strong worker of plants. However, she needed to do well in the subject if she wanted to become a healer like her father.
She put her head down and studying for weeks on all her practical plant knowledge. By the time her NEWT rolled around, Jess was more then prepared for the task.
She managed to Exceed Expectations which was a major relief given the importance of it.

History of Magic : A

Jess had always enjoyed history and although it was necessary to continue in it, she decided to take it just for the fun.
Needless to say her grade slid when she put all her effort into the more high risk classes she was in.
Though she did managed to land an Acceptable grade which was at the very least a pass.

Potions : O

Potions continued to be one of those classes that Jess managed to well in.
When it came time for her NEWTs she was well prepped to brew any potion required. One Outstanding later she was more then satisfied with her performance.

Transfiguration : E

Jessica needed to do well in Transfiguration, so despite the challenge she studied hard to perform well.
Managing to Exceed Expectations, she was very much relieved that had, her career depended on it.

Electives

Arithmancy : O

Arithmancy remained one of those classes that Jessica was good at. Coming into NEWTs that didn't change much and she was able to keep her Outstanding grade.

Care of Magical Creatures : A

Magical Creatures was a good class and informative. Though as time went Jess didn't feel it to be overly important. It was a good backing but that was about it.
So with all her other classes and her need to study for more important ones she only managed to gain an Acceptable grade.

Cursebreaking : E

Jess found Cursebreaking to be a good idea. She continued it to keep her options open. With the work she put in, she managed to Exceed Expectations which was more then enough for her.

Healing : O

Jess was no slouch when it came to healing. She took becoming a healer very seriously. Putting in some extra hours she managed to get an Outstanding grade.

Muggle Studies : E

Muggle studies was one of those classes that she was originally made to take. However because of her high grade, Jess decided to continue in the subject.
Managing to Exceed Expectations on her NEWTs she was more then impressed with herself.

Music : O

Music was a no brainer when it came to Jessica. The Ravenclaw had little worry on her magical talents. So leaving Hogwarts without an Outstanding grade was just unthinkable.

Study of Ancient Runes : O

Jessica was considering being a cursebreaker as a second career. As such she needed ancient runes. It was one of those classes she did well in and managed to maintain her Outstanding grade.
