xxx»» Skye is an extremely confident person; she has no qualms about speaking her mind whenever, to whoever, and she's not easily intimidated or made to feel insecure. She's very assertive and always comes across as very sure of herself; she has no issue with speaking in front of other people, and is very rarely shy or self-conscious. It takes a lot for her to be embarrassed or hesitant about something, and she tends to want to take charge of any given situation or social group.

Skye sees nothing wrong with this and believes if other people were smarter, they'd do so as well. However, her manipulations are not nearly as covert as she'd like to think, and people who are used to being around her can usually tell when she's putting on an act.

xxx»» Skye is an extremely unforgiving person. Once she trusts someone, she expects them to never do anything to hurt her, and she often has unrealistic expectations for friendships. She tends to burn bridges because she escalates petty disagreements to a ridiculous level, and she is a very proud and rigid person in that she never wants to be the one to have to back down and admit they were behaving poorly. Once someone has burned her she finds it incredibly difficult to be anything but contemptuous of them.

- CHILDHOOD
xxx»» Skye was born the second child of Alistair Cairn, a successful muggle businessman, and Freya Cairn, his equally ambitious wife. She was raised in a very wealthy and privileged environment alongside her older brother Jude. While the two siblings occasionally had affectionate moments, for the most part they didn't get along particularly well. As the baby of the family Skye was used to having a very close relationship with her father, who often assured her that she had inherited his cutthroat business acumen. Skye didn't really know what this meant, but given how busy her father was, she treasured the time he spent with her, even if she often felt pressured to live up to his high expectations. Her relationship with her mother was much colder, and Skye often squabbled with her as her strong-willed personality emerged.
As she grew, Skye noticed that strange things often happened around her brother Jude, and sometimes around her as well. She strove to hide her accidental bursts of magic as much as possible, worried her parents' disapproval would extend to her, too, and unable to face the idea of disappointing her father in particular with her 'freakishness'. When it did come out that Jude was in fact a wizard, like their estranged uncle Duncan, Skye realized she must also be a witch, something that initially alarmed and frightened her, before she became determined to use this to her advantage. Eventually, she assured herself, she could show their parents the benefits of magic, and they would love her all the more for her abilities. Unfortunately, before any of her grand plans could begin, their parents were both arrested for a slew of white collar crimes and sentenced to some serious prison time, despite all their money and influence. Skye, to her horror, was shipped off to live not with her muggle grandmother but with her uncle Duncan, to live at the old family mortuary. At the tender age of eight, she declared her childhood dead as well.
