β‡¨β˜Ύβ‡¨ Guild Tutorial:
This tutorial is just a starting point to point you in the right direction while summarizing the basic mechanics of the guild. We recommend reading all of the systems in detail to make sure you are understanding all of it but we hope this tutorial is a useful resource for you. This is your one-stop shop for all the basic info!
β†― The first step is to read the guild rules in full. Don't worry, this is not a huge text wall.
β†― There are three classes that you can choose from. You need only choose one class. You also must choose one path from your class. You are not required to choose a Meister or Weapon RPC partner for your character. You can choose one of the solo paths from the Meister or Weapon class or you can make a Witch. Additionally, you can create an NPC partner profile for your RPC that is fully under your control and does not consume an RPC slot.
β†― You also need to choose an archetype for your soul. This might seem overwhelming at first because there are a lot of options. Essentially, your archetype determines your strengths and weaknesses as well as what types of souls you are compatible with. If you are compatible or neutral with another soul then you can resonate with them. If you are incompatible then you cannot resonate at all. Make this choice carefully in consideration with your partner if you have one.
β†― You get 4 stat points to start with along with an additional 2 stat points from level one on your class. Thus, you should have 6 stat points in total to start with. Stats only determine what skill trees you have access to, nothing else. If you have two points in a stat then you can unlock the first tier in that stat's skill. Four stat points are required to unlock tier two. Six stat points are required to unlock tier three and this is the cap.
β†― The most important system in the guild is the skill trees. The skill trees determine the powers, abilities, techniques, and spells of your character. For the most part, only Weapons get weapon skills, Witches get magic skills, and only Meisters get soul skills with rare exceptions.
β†― You can choose up to four perks in the first tier, two perks in the second tier, and one perk in the third tier. What perks you choose and in what order is up to you. This is not a permanent decision. You can change your perks as long as you are out of combat.
β†― You need at least one perk from a tier to unlock that tier's level of techniques or spells from the skill tree. You can only perform techniques or spells that are up to one level above your character's level and no higher. So if you are level one you can only use up to level two techniques or spells.
β†― Weapon skills use stamina, magic skills use mana, and soul skills use spirit. How much resource the technique or spell consumes from your resource pool depends on the level of the spell or technique. Your resource pool instantly replenishes once you are out of combat and not being actively pursued for combat.
β†― The power of your character progresses gradually as you write and complete missions collecting souls. Souls act as XP and allow you to progress in levels. It is easy to level in the beginning and gets substantially more difficult later. All missions in P&R are modular meaning that you can make your own missions as long as you fulfill the requirements to get the souls. You may also be assigned special missions by a moderator if requested. We also commonly have guild events that are more rewarding than standard missions.
β†― Your character level determines how powerful you are while your star rank determines your level of notoriety and respect within your faction. They are completely separate metrics of advancement.
β†― Generally, Demon Weapons and Meisters do missions for the DWMA. Witches generally do missions for the Grand Coven. Those factions are where you will start although you can switch your affiliations later through roleplay.
β†― You must create your own personal profile box in the profile storage subforum to keep all of your RPC's profiles. You can post them in your faction and link to it. When you complete missions you must post it in your faction's mission board.
β†― You are also free to roleplay in Moments in Time, the World Subforum, and Miscellaneous Roleplay. Moments in Time is canon roleplay that is taking place at a different time than the main locations in the guild. The World Subforum is canon and in the current timeline but in locations outside of the DWMA, Death City, and Arcana. Miscellaneous roleplay is non-canon roleplay.
β†― Please read the Battle System rules in full.
β†― Once you are ready, post your profile in profile approval and enjoy your experience in P&R!
