Jieun had heard about the "cursed graveyard" from a couple of very young foals at her last stop. They had whispered excitedly about it, concocting stories of beasts and monsters and ghosts and the like. They did a far better job of entertaining her than vice versa, and she felt indebted to their parents for allowing her to stay in their herdlands as she passed through. She thought she was the one to entertain them as repayment, but the stories the little ones told were much, much more captivating! Of course they weren't real, or true, but now Jieun's curiosity had peaked and it wasn't too far off from where she was in the plains east of the graveyard's location off the Eastern Swamp. This had been the farthest east she had traveled without her brother - but with the news of them becoming aunts & uncles, it was her first solo trip out into the world as her family hustled and bustled to get things in order.

She wanted to get in one more trip before the baskets came and aunty duties started. She loved little ones - but she was young herself and conflicted with the desire to roam and the duty to her family. From what she calculated, to the best she could, she would be home before the popping of their baskets. It was a win-win in her book! However, traveling alone had one big downside and it was well, traveling alone.

It was early morning when she left the camp that had welcomed her, wanting to get a move on her journey. The sun was starting to chase the stars out of the sky, and the air had turned brisk with the coming fall. There did not look to be a cloud in the sky, which to Jieun meant that it would be a productive day of traveling.
