The weather was getting colder and wind harsh, it whipped the trees over head and caused the branches to groan against the strain. A dark colored mare stood amongst these trees staring up at the branches over her head. Frowning as the patchy cloud covered skies seemed to darken, but not with the coming of night. "Storms rolling in," the mare muttered to what looked like a ball of feathers that rested at her shoulders. The crow gave a half hearted croak before fluffing out even more against the cold. It seemed that this was not exactly the time to gather winter baring herbs. "Shelter it shall be I suppose and hope that this blows past."

The mare stepped carefully around the trees, her horn giving off a soft glow, nothing as bright as many others of her kind. It was by this time that the snow had started to blow with the wind that whistled in her ears. Braided hair was pulled behind and tussled around before finding a small shelter amongst some tightly clumped spruce. This would have to do until the storm passed over...

The weather had begun to turn, catching the pale haired stallion off guard. He had expected some snowfall, but the wind was harsher than he had expected. This didn't bode well for him, or any others caught in the midst of the storm--which was exactly why he pushed through it. If he'd been caught unaware, who else might be out there, struggling against the wind and the cold? He couldn't--wouldn't--leave them to their fate, so it was, he soldiered on, hoping to ensure no one was truly lost or in bad shape.

Unfortunately, even the large stallion was no match to mother nature, and as the storm raged out, he had no choice but to attempt to seek shelter. While he hated to do it, he would be no help to anyone out there if he let himself freeze; and while he he was both blessed by the spirits, and an exceptional healer, he was still just as vulnerable to the elements as anyone. Kaiya had always told him that there were some battles that could not be won on the first day; there was no shame in retreat, or knowing ones limits. So it was, he pushed onward through the storm, taking shelter in a thicker part of the woods.

It was of no surprise that he wasn't the only one to think about heading into the thicket. Sure enough, there seemed to be another taking shelter among the brush. The thick trees did cut the worst of the snow, and helped to keep the worst bite of cold off his back. Giving his coat a small shake, Galahad gave a dip of his head in greeting. "Salutations," he spoke, green eyes peeking over at Nightling and her feathered friend curiously. "I hope you don't mind the intrusion." He'd leave if she seemed uncomfortable or aggressive, but he hoped his appearance wouldn't be too upsetting for the mare. He wasn't the sort to look for trouble, after all, and only needed to linger until the storm passed.

The rustling of branches and crunching of snow reached her ears before turning ever so to stare at the great white stallion that approached. She watched him as he entered the more sheltered area that she herself had taken. There was plenty of space for the both of them, for the time she merely watched. When he dipped his head, she did the same in greeting. "Greetings, horrible weather we're having" she said looking back towards the snow that she could swear was falling thicker more it passed. "You are welcome to rest here, there is plenty of space. Really wouldn't wish this even upon an enemy."

Frowning slightly she gave herself a shake to ward off the cold that was creeping along her bones. Nightling never liked the cold that much, but there were some things that thrived within it. "Might I ask what has brought one so mighty out into this weather? Surely it would have been warmer back with one's herd?" Nightling asked forgetting that she had yet to introduce herself. Having been away from the normal populous of the lands, she had forgotten how to interact with the majority. For now she turned her attention towards the elder that shared the space, hoping that the shared body heat might also warm the space between the trees.
