It was a beautiful midwinter's day; though snow still clung to trees and bushes, or in patches sheltered from the sun's warmth and light.

Perfect winter weather, Chrissy felt, to go looking for a bite to eat; maybe some winter fruits, or tender roots or new growth; there were plenty of options, really, and Chrissy stretched and then began to trot about, looking for such delicacies as the mare looked about. The female was in high spirits -- as usual, really -- and she looked about with bright eyes and brighter smile, taking in the scent of the world in her search for delicious things, and spied a meadow with new grass just beginning tyo come in.

Perfect!

Chrissy turned towards it, beginning to trot for the new grass with an upbeat trot, smelling the air as she took in plant scents; grasses and some lovely bushes, a few other treats all waiting, and she hoped that she wasn't intruding, either -- after all, she never knew where a herd might be, and she did so defer to them. Good manners counted after all.
