They say that April Showers bring May flowers, and this year is no exception. With the cascading rains come a flourish of new life. Blossoming fields of flowers, vibrant grasses in the hills, riverbeds refreshed with water, and the overflowing waterfalls pushes nutrients throughout the lands. For those in the desert, many oases have been renewed, more temperate weather coming in to provide a brief respite from the scorching summers, and the soft breezes bringing comfort. Under the sea, while not experiencing the seasons like their land counterparts, a noticeable difference in the saltiness of the water has been found, especially close to land where the abundance of fresh water meets the ocean. Now is a good time for movement if one so chooses for all. How are your soquili handling this time of cool peace?

Spring was always an interesting time for Xeria, the self-appointed King of the Forest. All of his little subjects started waking up and moving about, or returned from abroad for the warmer months. Babies were being born, flowers were blossoming, food was plentiful, and the air was thick with promise. The King stalked the woods silently, watching his kingdom teem with life as he kept to the shadows, his ethereal companion circling lazily around his legs. He liked to protect the forest without interfering too much, staying in the shadows and operating at night. He was a solo act for a long time, though that had changed when his sister's children graced the forest with their presence. Xeria had changed into quite the hands-on uncle and he found himself well suited to a more social role. He missed when the kids were small. Grown, all of them, and some even finding lifemates of their own. He couldn't believe it. Time surely passes too swiftly.

But just as a new spring returns each year, new opportunities to raise children present themselves as well. This time it was his grandparents who were expecting and Xeria couldn't be more excited. As the family expands, his kingdom grows richer and he couldn't wait to see what delights these new foals will bring to their little family herd.

Not so little anymore, he thought with a smile. For so many years it was just Xeria, Nita, and Agares but in time their little herd has expanded both with blood relatives and found family. Every addition has been exciting, strange, and beautiful. And loud. Things were so quiet before the family started expanding. Even with the added hustle and bustle of the new members of the herd around lately Xeria knew this was the most quiet things were going to be for a while. Once the foals were born this forest was going to become a chaotic and loud mess of craziness.

He couldn't wait.
