Coming down from visiting his family in their mountain home, the lowlands had become a lot more humid and hotter than he recalled. While Aiolos was what could be called a lean and muscled stallion - his game was endurance not strength. In this heat though? He silently cursed the dark hues of his pelt as he walked through the stream heading uphill. The waters which were fed by the mountains across the valley fed this stream and he was thankful for the cool waters washing up his legs as he worked his way through the current. Was there any bodies of water up ahead? He could really use a good submerge right about now as a sigh escaped his lips.
Truthfully, he was just thankful for a break to clear his head.
He loved going home, and loved his family dearly. However all the new members and relationships had pulled at his heartstrings, he hadn't expected to see Shamsiel with Marius. He was happy for them, truly he was! However it still...ate at him a bit. Ate at him in the way that most of his siblings had someone in their life, and what as he doing? He had new baby younger siblings now and still felt like the child of the family! What was he even doing with his life? The stallion let out a troubled groan - perhaps if he hadn't been so foolhardy and absent as a younger stallion he too may have had a family...but regardless he knew he couldn't be upset that Caely and Shamsiel had found their hearts calling; even if it hadn't been with him in the end.
What would he do now? Aiolos wasn't sure, he hadn't really settled anywhere outside of his family's homeland in the mountains but he was sure he didn't want to be a bother while his parents were dealing with his younger siblings - having all girls and his father having made the announcement he was retiring from his travels he wanted to give them time to adjust. Besides, Marius and the others who lived nearby was enough for the time being. He wouldn't be gone for long anyways, as he looked up and froze for a moment. Ruby eyes widened as he spotted a dark figure and his heart lurched for a moment as flashes of that awful unikalona clouded his mind. Yet as he let out a strained exhale he realized it was too big to be her....there was no wings...heck he wasn't even a she or a kalona. It was another stallion, drinking from the very water he was trudging up through.
"Ah! I uh....I'm sorry, I didn't realize someone was up here drinking...." He stammered a bit, shifting his weight as he wondered if he should get out of the water. At least he hadn't come from downstream to this point or he was sure it would have been a much different conversation! "I was heading upstream to see if there was a body of water somewhere, would you happen to know what lies ahead..?"
