Donagh raised his head slightly to bask in the rays of the sun shining down on the stream before him. While it was still morning, he knew finding this water source and nearby shade was a necessity for the afternoon heat. While he typically enjoyed summer, even he could admit that this summer was hotter than the last and if caught unawares it could turn dangerous easily. Maybe it would be a good idea to make a home nearby. The forest off to his left was teeming with life and off to his right were endless fields with grass and other foliage that came up to his chest. It wouldn’t be a bad place to spend the summer. He sighed and shook his mane out before bending down to take a few gulps of water. While the forest was teeming with small critters, it lacked those who could hold a conversation and it had been days since he’d last talked to another. He’d admit it, he was lonely. It would be nice to have another around to talk to. For the simple companionship of another’s presence. Donagh closed his eyes and breathed in the fresh smell of the stream. The mossy scent that clung to the rocks before him. Focusing on the scents around him allowed Donagh the chance to quiet his mind and spirit. While generally happy and easy to please, even he could admit that his thoughts hadn’t been as bright as of late. He knew his mind was a little negative now, but he knew as soon as he came across another wanderer he’d brighten back up. Once more he shook his mane before taking a deep breath. Time to dispel those negative thoughts and find a nice shady area to rest for the next few hours.
