History:
Childhood: Ivanna hails from the wealthy Zhirov family, and is originally from Russia. Her family name is particularly prominent within Durmstrang Institute, the school that all of her family members had attended through the years. For Ivanna as well, that had always been the plan-- For her to attend Durmstrang, a plan that changed on the evening of her parent's arrest.
The wealth of the Zhirov family did not come without a price, that price being their connection to the criminal underworld of the dark arts. For many years within secrecy, the Zhirov's held illegal duels between dark witches and wizards, in the form of underground fighting circles within their family manor. The money of course came from the gambling aspect related to these duels, and the family had always been very selective on who they chose to invite to the duels.
Eventually, the Zhirov family was betrayed, and the secret of their crimes was revealed. Ivanna had only been a mere nine years old at the time this happened, her parents both now wanted criminals by the Ministry of Magic.
For the early stages of her life, her mother and father had done their best to instill the family ideals and expectations upon the young Ivanna. A Seer predicted the inevitable to Ivanna's parents-- That they would soon find themselves imprisoned within Azkaban. After receiving this news, viewing it as their only option, Ivanna's parents made Ivanna form a blood pact with them in the form of a promise to one day break them free.
Shortly after the blood pact was formed, a few days later when her parents and her fled the family manor in a last attempt to escape fate, it didn't take long for a party of Dementors to track them down.
After her parents were arrested and sent to Azkaban, Ivanna was taken by the Ministry of Magic and put into the care of her Aunt Alina. Her Aunt had always distanced herself from the rest of the Zhirkov's-- For it was she who had turned her own brother into the Ministry in the first place, after marrying someone who worked there. Ivanna holds an astounding amount of resentment towards her Aunt Alina for this betrayal, and hastily accepted the invitation to Hogwarts, not wanting to be anywhere near her Aunt.
