It had been a few days since Vadoma had left Rares’ Vardo and the entire time all she could think about was him. When she left he didn’t look thrilled. But he had said she was going to have to leave at sunset anyhow so she wasn’t sure why he seemed so upset. She had thought perhaps he might stop by the temple at some point so she had spent most of her days peering out the window of her bedroom to watch those coming and going. Still no Rares.
Disappointment had begun to settle in her gut. She considered going to him again but Kieran was being awful snoopy about who she was waiting for. Vadoma was not ready to tell him, let alone her fathers. It brought her back to that incident and the conversation her and Kieran had had with their Papas about stranger danger. How you can be nice to strangers but you should never ever go anywhere by yourself with them. But….she was an adult now. And she had completly blown that lesson right out of the water.
Memories of that night with Rares came flooding back. How close they were. How intimate it had been. It was an unexpected thing. He had seemed so adamant about driving her away before they finally gave in to the heat between them. But she found being here at the temple and not with him there was a tightness in her chest. Vadoma wanted to see him again. But how long was appropriate to wait? A week? Two weeks? She didn’t know if she could go that long.
Moving away from her window she flopped face first onto her bed. Glad she no longer shared a room with Kieran. At least this was her little sanctuary. She loves her brother, she really did, however sometimes she just didn’t feel like talking about things, most certainly not this. Not until she unpacked everything and figured out what was going on and what she wanted
Well, she knew who she wanted.
Rolling over onto her back she stared up at the ceiling, arms and legs spread out in an almost starfish looking position. Vadoma let out a loud sigh. She had such little experience with these kinds of things she just didn’t know what to do. Or what exactly she was feeling.
Her mind wandered to Ravnos and Grendel. They loved each other so much and took every opportunity they could to show each just just how much they loved one another. They were always kissing or showing affection. Their love never seemed to waver. When Grendel was gathering Disciples to him they only had small amounts of time together but they were still able to show one another love. Vadoma wanted that. She wanted someone to spend her time with showing them how much she…..loved them.
It was a funny word. Love. There were so many types of love but what she felt between Rares and herself was like white hot lightening. It was blinding and jarring and incredible and beautiful all at once. But was it love? She knew that she liked him a lot,there was definitely an attraction there at least. That much she knew.!when they were together he had been unable to keep his ol eyes off of her for very long.
Sitting up she wrapped her shadow tendrils around herself. The vibrated with excitement.!?Vadoma had decided she would go find him again. Maybe he was just waiting for her to come back.
Hopping off her bed she checked that her hair looked ok and that her clothes looked nice before she quickly left the temple, standing outside beneath the sun shield Vadoma looked up, you could barely see the stars but the night was still early.if she got there quick maybe they would have more time together.
