I Dream of You

The path ahead is as uncertain as a dream. Don't get lost in the mortal's twists and turns my love.

This is a concept/roleplay contest for the angelique of the Goddess of Dreams, Ahlam.

General Dream Information

The realm of dreams is a very nebulous, always changing path. Ahlam travels through mortal's dreams to ensure that their dreams are on the correct path. Dreams are used to teach mortals various things, give them comfort, or play various roles in a mortal's life.

Ahlam travels every night to ensure that these dreams are following their intended paths, or to correct ones that might have strayed. Doing so can use up a lot of her attention and efforts in the Dream realm, thus her angelique has two main jobs: navigation and protection.

This future angelique is there to protect Ahlam while she is working in a mortal's dream but also helps navigate to the next destination while Ahlam recovers her energy from the last task. I would like them to work closely hand in hand to ensure that faes' dreams are carefully guided.

Angelique Appearance Details
I'm looking for someone to pair well with Ahlam, but not someone who looks just like her. I've not settled on Angelic or Dark Angelic, but here's a few things to note all the same:

• Blue must be included. Surprising no one. Even if just a little.
  
• I'm open to a lot of lines as being good options, but I'm also a sucker for the OG lines back in the day plus a few others: baddie, reg, pures, jackal, etc.
  
• I'm not looking for anyone high tech. No body gore either, or clashing neon colors. Think complimentary, but not exactly like!

Angelique's Name: Erebus (Greek means darkness))
Personality: Erebus is a noble hero, he is loyal and protective of his mate and anyone that nests in the dreaming or sleep. He keeps natemares and sleep monsters at bay. He is wise and keeps the dreaming safe. His biggest motivation is to protect his goddess with his life and dreaming. He also guides his mate and others using stars and points to nativatgate by insuring they are on the right path or the needed one.
Plot Ideas:
The dreaming: the day he came into her life. He might be a saving her from something a nitemare not realizing eho she is.

The beautiful dreaming: He loyalty to her and exploring their life together and how he helps her create her world and how he protects her and it.

The fallen hero:: Erebus is a tortured soul he was a nitemare once. He was also a hero. Maybe they can explore this together or he can help someone like him.

Angelique's Name: Anoushka - Hindi name meaning "one who fulfills their dreams and aspirations."
Personality: Anoushka, or Anka to those she's close to, is a determined lady. Once she puts her mind to something, it can be a little challenging to redirect her but it does mean she gets things DONE. The downside is she can let other things go for a bit while focusing on the project she is working on. She is also loving, caring and protective, and loyal to a fault. She would willingly put herself between those she loves and danger, if she could protect them, even when it might be their fault they were in the danger.
She loves reading, especially to learn new and odd knowledge... The more esoteric the better... And she likes to surprise people with her odd little facts when she can. Need a strange conversation starter for a party? She'll probably have one for you.
Plot Ideas:
The Calling: Ahlam, overwhelmed by juggling her duties and protecting herself, calls out her Angelique as Gods are wont to do. On this day, Anoushka is created, and their first meeting takes place in a moment of struggle, so that instead of a gentle meeting, Anka must get straight to work, guiding Ahlam from the knotted tangle of the dream to the point where she is able to walk free and take a moment of rest.

Rare Moments: Short series of RP moments, taking place in those rare times when no one is actively dreaming and Ahlam and Anka have a moment of peace together. Gentle words, soft discussions, cuddling and joy.

The Nightmare: Ahlam must deal with a dreamer's nightmare, and in the Waking/Physical world, Anka must deal with an intruder into the Temple... One who does NOT intend good for Ahlam. Decisions must be made on how to deal with this situation, but the dreamer cannot be abandoned.

Lucem - Latin for guiding light.
Personality:
Above all else Lucem in dedicated to keeping his goddess safe, and aiding her in her journeys through the dream realm. When working he is focused, calm, and often times stoic. Once Ahlam has returned he is loving, nurturing and almost playful. Doing everything in his power to lighten her mood and make her feel loved and cherished. He would rather be in pain himself, then see her even slightly distressed.

~ Return From Dreams ~ Ahlam would have returned from a night roaming the dream realm, this could have been either an uneventful night or a very stressful night. Either way once she has returned Lucem turns into a doting house hubby. Taking care of her, pampering her and over all just showing her how much he cares for her.

~ Threat To The Temple ~ Something or someone trespasses into the temple, thus risking the safety of Ahlam. Lucem would have to deal with them, as well as keep an eye out to guide the goddess. In order to not worry her when she returns Lucem would have to scramble to make sure the temple was set right and in the same shape as when she left. With or without help.

What do they look like: Male, Kneeling Baddie, Jackal, or Renp lines, imagining long black hair and midnight blue fur with galaxy markings. Big pretty blue-black iridescent wings. Elegant and floaty clothing, very dancer-y, black/blue/purple palette with galaxy accents. Maybe give him a little bit of an ethereal glow? Like he's been made of dreamstuff just for Ahlam. Mr. Sandman, bring me a dreammm~ make him the cutest that I've ever seeeen~
Angelique's Name: Phantasus - one of the Oneiroi, Greek spirits that bring dreams.
Personality: Phantasmus is very much the strong, silent type--utterly dedicated to Ahlam, and focused eternally on her protection. He takes his duty to his goddess very seriously, and will not be moved from his position as her protector. Most visitors to the temple likely find him a little intimidating, possibly as bit off-putting, but he likes it that way. The only person who will ever see a softer, warmer side of him is his Goddess, and to her he is a devoted and loving partner, soft and affectionate in a way most who see him outside her service would never believe.
Plot Ideas:
The Nightmare: let hunky protective man be hunky and protective. Ahlam gets lost in a mortal's labyrinthine nightmare (perhaps influenced by another God? could do some fun plots with this, perhaps! ex maybe the nightmare surrounds a secret that's been handed to the God of Secrets for protection) and Phantasmus has to go in after her to rescue her and help her (and perhaps the suffering mortal) find their way back out.

Temple Care: Domestic shenanigans of looking after the temple, keeping it clean, welcoming mortal visitors, etc. This is kind of a lot of plots in one, but I think domestic shenanigans are cute. I am specifically picturing maybe tending a small garden of strange magical plants that are formed from dreams, and maybe Phantasmus cultivating a specific variety he knows Ahlam loves to surprise her with a pretty magical garden.

Angelique's Name: Menaali
Personality:
Menaali tends to be on the quieter side of things. They're more likely to sit back and let Ahlam take charge for most things. Not that they don't have opinions, but most of the time they're not strong enough to fight over. Should their opinion differ, they'll drop a quiet word about it but otherwise drop the topic. They're welcoming to those who seek out the temple and love to care for those in their care. Their temper is hard to rouse and the surest way to get it up and roaring is for trying to hurt their loved ones or for Ahlam to try and push herself too much and not let them take care of her.

Menaali aims to be a safe harbor for Ahlam. While they're out in the dreamland, they're vigilant, keeping an eye on nearby dreams and nightmares alike. Keeping track of all the paths through, meticulous in picking out what looks like the best path and working in tandem with her seraphim to keep Ahlam safe while she tends to her duties.

Once they're safe and back at home, they set about tending to any of her needs with just as much attention to detail as they provide navigating the dreamland. Providing her with whatever delicious meals she would like, pampering her by making sure she has the most comfortable places to rest, Menaali finds the most joy doing these acts of service for her. They're always willing to lend her a listening ear and open heart if she needs to lean on them.

Since most of the work they do require mortals to be asleep, they make sure the temple is well cared for with ample different spaces to doze. Selecting priestesses and priests to tend to those mortals that come in while the deity and her angelique are away with careful consideration. Checking in before they leave and once they're back to ensure nothing untoward has happened.

Their biggest motivation is the safety and comfort of their goddess. She's well able to care for herself, but Menaali finds pleasure in providing protection and guidance for her. The next biggest motivations would be for any children they might have and the mortals that come to them for help. Their purpose is to guide and protect and what would they be if they didn't do that to the best of their abilities? If they didn't have anyone to guide and protect?

Plot Ideas:
Menaali is there to serve Ahlam, but is not subservient to her. They're equals but it's Menaali's pleasure to serve and care for her. Ahlam doesn't need them to do this, but it's their honor to do so.

Plot ideas -

A Summons: Ahlam thought that she could handle the dream world on her own. She's had many offers from those would love to become her mate and she'd decided against them all. So she's been attending to mortal's dreams for much too long without help. After a long battle she hadn't seen coming, she's tired and just wants to return home but she's lost the way. Alone and wishing for home, she summons an angelique to guide and protect her. Menaali appears and helps her home and then tends to her wounds and pampers her in a way she hasn't been until now.

Pampering: After a full night of tending to mortal dreams and nightmares, Ahlam deserves just as much pampering and Menaali is more than willing to do so. [This could also be an anniversary event of some sort for them.

Seraphim: This could be either Menaali and Ahlam arguing over whether or not Ahlam needs some seraphim in addition to her angelique or new seraphim being introduced to Menaali or Ahlam depending on which of them wanted to know them first.

Base: Deep blue+black+purple. Markings are constellations that look like skeleton markings similar to the second pic's legs. Skull marking on face in a similar color to the rest of them
Eyes: Either a nice golden hue to stand out, or a silver to match accessory colors, but preferably golden
Hair: Up in a very long ponytail. Could be just tousled like the bottom leftmost pic or styled similar to the 2nd and 3rd pics on the bottom row. I am torn between white, black, and black streaked with blue for colors.
Horns: 2 white front facing horns like the bottom rightmost image.
Outfit: Bottom right-most avi shows the outfit best. Color-wise I'm torn between a sinful color palette with light blue + purple or maybe a deeper purple. Willing to discuss adjust the colors
-Top would be a bra-like covering with lace up to the neck and a bit on the shoulders. some gems embedded in the lacey parts
-Bottom is panties and then an open two teired skirt with a sheer edging. The sheer part has a star-like patterning.
-Accessories: flowers and a headdress on her head. a circlet draped between the two horns
Gloves are optional, but would look similarly to the gloves on the bottom-most avi
Shoes could just be some simple flats, colors matching the rest of the outfit or no shoes if that's preferred
Wings: there are 2 options. Either a pair of black feathered wings similar to the ones shown in the top middle options, or 2 sets of wings in white + soft blue similar to the right-most top avi.

Angelique's Name: Menala
Personality:
Menala is open, communicative and above all independent. Even though she's a natural leader, she often prefers to rather be alone than with people who could discover her soft side. She hates monotony and tries to fill her days and nights with as much as possible to keep it at bay. Vivacious, quick and enterprising by nature, she loves the thrill of battle. This could be physical battle against something trying to hurt Ahlam or a battle of wits to get more materials, etc for the temple. Frank and direct she does not like to take detours and can't stand hypocrisy.

Nobody will ever find her doing nothing, instead people will find her being constantly busy getting stuff done. The experience of directing people makes her feel powerful and gives her great pleasure. Often she will give her all when focused on a task whether that be guiding her goddess to the next place she's needed or taking care of tasks around the temple.

Decision making comes easy to her. She has a deep love for order and creation. Her strong passions make her move on instinct(sometimes because of envy). Working in a team can be a struggle because of the desire to be independent. Having a leading position offers her much more comfort than being a subordinate to someone else. Directing Ahlam's seraphim on how best to protect her works best, and Menala loves a good battle to get her blood pumping.

She's not the sort to intentionally misguide Ahlam, much fun as it would be to do battle more often. Her goddess relies on her to successfully guide her to where she wants to go and protect her when she needs it, so that's what she does. She'll instead pull the tails (figuratively) of the priests and priestesses at the temple to satisfy her urges to create mild bits of chaos.

Her motivations and goals boil down to the same thing: being the best dark angelique Ahlam could ask for. They can't always agree, but coming to compromises is something she's still willing and able to try. All the other tasks she sets for herself are to help prove how worthy she is for the role she's been given.

Plot Ideas:
Menala loves Ahlam, of that there is never any doubt. However she sometimes struggles to live with the concept of a relationship where compromises have to be made. Sometimes this causes them to argue, but it isn't long before they're making up. Menala is more than up for any tasks that Ahlam sets for her and knows she can ask the same of her mate.

Plot ideas:

A Fight: (probably not one of the first rps between them) Menala and Ahlam disagree about something, and both think that they're right about it. We can figure something out what exactly it is/could be. This could be both the fight and them making up or just the fight itself and then they separate to go talk to other people.

Making up: Could be the aftermath of a previous RP or something on it's own. One of them, probably Menala, tries to make up for an argument the two of them have. Things get really sappy between them.

Babysitters: One of the pairs friends have kids and they need a hand having them watched while the couple is out. Shenanigan's ensue. This could bring up one of the pair wanting kids and them talking about it.

To Battle!: It's been a very quiet night in the dreamland, but that looks like it's going to change. Menala gets to battle with some unlucky folks while Ahlam tries to guide a mortals nightmares back into the correct path.

Personality: Hamir's personality wanders between courageous guardian, and being akin to a trickster god. A jester to bring a smile to his goddess's face when she is down, a shoulder to support when she is feeling overwhelmed, a claw to rend the nightmares that would do her harm, and a purring kitten to cuddle in the warmth of her glow and a pathfinder for when she has become lost. Much like a dream, he is everything and anything she needs, when she needs it, at the exact opportune moment. Sometimes it may seem he is a bit disingenuous, but he is genuinely striving to be everything for her, despite having started out as no more than a timid whisp of a thought that longed to stay beside her.
Plot Ideas:

Behind the veil: mortals sleep, this is known to all, but the goddess who tends to those dreams must ever keep a watchful eye, however, between the waking world, and the dreaming one the veil shifts to show someone new. A pleasant and enchanting creature designed to entertain the goddess when she's in need of respite. (This would likely be their first meeting)

Let the music play on: Ahlam discovers that her partner has a talent for music, be that a voice to gently lull one into sleep or playing a delightful tune upon the pipes they keep in their bag. Discussing the goddess's favored melodies. And what Hamir would play to bring a smile to Ahlam's face.

Bleeding echoes: Hamir hears the nightmares plaguing the mortals in their dreams, terror, and horror shredding through the dreamscape, there is no time, there is no thought, save one, Ahlam needs to leave before she is trapped by the nightmare beasts.

A partner, an equal, a true friend: It has been some time since Ahlam and Hamir met, they have come to know each other well, inside and out almost, and with that, there is one last secret Hamir must share to truly feel as though his goddess knows him inside and out. Where he really came from.
