Morning had come as it had for weeks, months, and had it been a year or so since? Most likely. Meridah inhaled the crisp salted air from the sea, perched on her knoll as she was most every morning waiting for Voda to return from the depths of the water. The dawning sun stretched its warmth across her dusky pelt, illuminating the long-healed scars from their run in with Howl. It had taken a long time for the wounds to not bother her when she moved, now only soft pink bald splotches on her fur were left of the ordeal. Tearing her eyes from the painted morning sky she looked down below her body as the grass was getting splotchy from consistent daily use. "Maybe I should change spots..." She whispered, but it was at that moment such a mundane phrase sunk in lower into her soul than she had intended.

Change.

Over the spanning seasons in the back of her head she had begun to realize the amount of change in her life thus far. Further did she move from the nativity of her youth, that brazen filly a ghostly image of what she once was and all that she grew up to be. Every morning, she woke to Pheonix getting bigger and bigger as no longer she was the little hatchling she'd grown to love. Pheonix was an adult and Meridah had never been so proud then to see her soar and become the capable and caring little soul she was destined to be. Even now she was off to catch some breakfast before she would ultimately return to her parent’s side, yet there was some part of her deep down that knew eventually these morning rituals would stop - that she too would change.

Even the relationship between Voda and Her had changed over the years, from the best of friends as foals, to the heartache of distance and time. To the love they had come to know, even if still new and a bit shy after a year she wouldn't change a thing. However, the notion of it was still on her mind...what was it that would come from this change? Certainly, this comfortable routine wasn't one to last for eternity. While she knew that his presence daily was something that she wanted till the end of her years she had been wracking her brain on how to...be an adult? Spirits above it was a silly thought for a mare like herself and a Knight no less but in her years, she knew that being a Knight wasn't as it was in her head. There had been real life consequences to putting your body out there for the glory of battle. She had a family to protect, and she would do so without hesitation but the battle with the shifter had been sobering. Further still that the very hill she had plummeted from was just a quick trot to the south of her - the lands unchanging other than with the seasons since their youth. Of course, this was all a perpetual train of thoughts in her head, reminded once more that she was waiting on Voda.

With her eyes once more scanning the oceanscape for the kelpie who owned her heart, she flicked her head to let her mane catch the breeze. Change wasn't all bad and scary, and maybe today was the day she talked about the change which was lingering within her thoughts.
