(eye twiches) I hate the phrase "believe it", it drives me nuts!!!!

It is awfully annoying...especially if you know the reason why.

In the original Japanese release of Naruto, Dattebayo! (だってばよ) is Naruto Uzumaki's catch phrase. He uses it at the end of most of his sentences as a way of making his speech unique.

Dattebayo has no literal English translation, but Believe It! is used in the English dub whenever Naruto is making a big statement to keep a similar tone in the English version of the series. It is also used to match the mouth flaps from the original Japanese release.

It also is worded as Do you get what I'm saying?

Some rough translations have been said that sentences like "Nan dattebayo?" means "What the heck?", while "Wakkattebayo." means "I get it", "Got it.", or "I get it already."; note that they all have the suffix, "-tebayo" in it.

He doesn't even say it in the original japanese anime. sweatdrop One of the many reasons I prefer to watch anime in japanese.
