Alright...to end this stupidity: they don't die, per se, but "fade back into the oblivion from whence they came." No, that doesn't mean CASTLE Oblivion, but just nothingness.
Also, there is no "KH3" there are 3 games being made. 358/2 Days, Birth by Sleep, and coded. Yes, coded has no capitalization.
