Information about Zamphirs: The Zamphirs are half vampires, half mortal faekats. As such, they have a lot of the strengths of a vampire but none of their weaknesses. They tend to make excellent vampire hunters.

Description of the temple:

A black marble structure greets the weary traveler, glistening in the moonlight. Gargoyles peer down from the spires that circle the temple and dark ivy creeps up the sides like spider webs. Pushing open the large wooden door finds you in an unlit room. Fumbling on the wall to your right, a sconce is found with a torch still in it. Upon lighting it, an altar greets you in the center of the room. It's made of white marble and is adorned with etching of roses and great hunters past. Flowers and various other offerings are left here to please the goddess, whose visage is immortalized in a large portrait on the wall behind the altar. Hallways lead off to the left and the right and forward behind the altar. The hallways straight ahead is sealed off with a heavy door. A sign upon it reads "Reserved for the Court of the Lady". The hallway to the right is similarly denied you, with a sign reading "Neophyte's and Adept's Chambers". To the left the door is open and as you enter you find an entire wing of the temple complete with a kitchen and some simple bedrooms.

Name: Vesira
Domain: Zamphirs
Angelique: Demosthenes

About her
: She is graceful, proud, and easily offended. She views herself to be the embodiment of Zamphir beauty, and any Zamphir caught claiming such a title in her presence will be swiftly punished. She can be very violent when aggravated and is likely to drive a stake through a paw for any infraction. She has a deep hatred of vampires, and will try to kill any on sight. An easy way to earn her favor is to compliment her, however she is not stupid. She will not tolerate lies and frivolous flattery.

Post color: Bold, dark red

The Bats: They are her attendants and are with her often, however they are not normal bats. They serve as extensions of the Goddess herself. They are often used as her eyes and ears and the presence of one may be a good or bad omen, depending on which one has been sent.

(From bottom left to right in a circle)

Persecution (female) Has orange eyes. Often used as the Goddess' eyes and ears on the mortal plane. She is used as a scout and the goddess will send her to accompany those she sends on missions. Usually a bad omen.
Imp (male) Has yellow eyes. His presence is typical of the Goddess testing or toying with someone. Can also be a sign of the Goddess' displeasure.
Revelation (female) Has red eyes. always a good omen.
Minion (male) Has green eyes. His presence usually indicates the Goddess' favor.
Judgement (female) Has blue eyes. Can be a good or bad omen.

About him:
Demosthenes has always been self-assured, bold, and generally fearless. He is the sort of being who knows what he wants in life, and will do what he has to do to achieve it. Perhaps he is a bit Machiavellian nature, believing that the ends justify the means, regardless of what one must do to achieve them. This is all the more necessary when hunting down the damned, and something he prescribes in his daily life. So long as his goals, and Vesira's goals, are achieved -- does the road to victory matter?

He does not suffer weakness, in himself most of all. While he does not crave power for power's sake, he does wish for it so he might better wipe out the scourge of vampires. His life, like all the lives of the Zamphirs, is meant for one purpose and one purpose alone -- to continue the hunt. However, he is not completely heartless--he will, after all, be a mortal voice for their goddess, as well as her will. However much he might revere Vesira, he is his own being, and sees himself as close to an equal -- she deserves an Angelique she can respect, one that could perhaps, someday, become her equal (at least as-in-so-far as an Angelique can be).

Demosthenes is ready to put in the work. He may not be well-favored among other Zamphirs, especially after so boldly ousting Dyre -- but they need that sort of strength to do the hard work ahead of them. The Vampire Clans are growing, and they must be there to stop them -- they need a General against the war of the damned, and Demosthenes intends to be it.
How does he behave in victory (Dyre can not be killed, but please describe what happens after the battle in the story!): The battle was not easy, but then again, Demosthenes did not expect it to be. It did, however, last longer than he had thought it might -- a position which both pleased and vexed him. Ultimately, though, the hard-fought battle was won and he the victor! With Dyre down, Demosthenes would stand over him, panting from exertion, but exultant all the same. "A worthy opponent," he'd speak, giving a dip of his head in acknowledgment to the other. Dyre was not necessarily well liked by Demosthenes, as he would always be a specter in Vesira's thoughts and memories, but he could respect the other...grudgingly enough. "But your time is up." Instead, he would turn to look upon Vesira with renewed boldness.

"My Goddess, I have done as you bade. I have shown your my strength in battle, defeated your Dyre -- now the final choice is yours. Let me take my place as your rightful Angelique -- or choose the one I have felled." Demosthenes was not so foolish as to think his stunt would ensure him victory -- for who could force a goddess into anything? If she wanted Dyre, then she could, and would, still choose him...

But Demosthenes had every expectation that she would not pick Dyre. He was weak, and represented what once was; Demothenes was sure of himself, victorious, and represented what could be.

How does he treat Vesira: He is respectful, worshipful, and committed. However, he does not treat her as some prize. He wishes to do her will and bidding, but is not meant to be molded or broken down into a voiceless, mindless, yes-man. He has his own ambitions, his own strength, his own abilities, and he plans on using them. He will not be afraid to speak up or even against her if he thinks something is amiss; he does not fear her -- but his interests will always lie in her best-interest, and those of the Zamphirs.

This will often put him in alignment with what Vesira needs and wants, but he is bold enough to speak up if he disagrees or feels something might be amiss. He is no fool.

He has loved Vesira from afar, and will likely always do so -- no matter the outcome. She is his world, and he will do what he must to become an all-the-more-worthy Angelique.

How will he treat Vesira's previous children: So long as they are in Vesira's good graces, he will treat them with respect. They are her progeny, after all. Each relationship will vary based on interaction, of course, but Demothenes is no fool. However, he will not likely be overly-warm, and will be more respectful (provided they are no fools). Demosthenes is not a soft individual, but he could learn warmth with time.

He spent much of his life hunting and looking to please Vesira, and to become a worthy warrior, that inter-personal relationships with other Zamphirs is something he'll need to work on. He can be a leader, but he'll need to learn how to become a friend.

What ideas or plans does he have for the Zamphirs: He wants to better organize. They are hunters, and were blessed (cursed?) with powers that will help them destroy the Enemy. However, they need to organize into some sort of army. They need faes to seek out intel and allies (or at least informants); they need muscle and strength to form some sort of army; they need stealth and assassins to move quickly and quietly to dispatch targets; they need crafters to specialize weaponry; they need individuals who can raise new generations, and care for those who are injured; they need Zamphirs loyal to the cause, Vesira's cause, his cause -- so they can wipe hunt the vampire clans down with both force and strategery.

1. Do not post in the Goddess' post style of bold, dark red. You may be bold, and you may use dark red, but not both. This is just courtesy.

2. Zamphirs are a race that enjoys being vampire hunters, so please don't bring your vampires in here. It will just get messy.

3. Any other races, ebil or neutral, are welcome here.

4. Be respectful of all others here

Name: Eriannia
Likes:
Personality:She is fiery and chaotic. She's difficult to handle and hard to predict. She knows compassion, but she is also wicked. She harbors a deep resentment towards her father and brother Srets for failing their family and being cast out. She feels no particular love for her father and brother whom she never sees, but the fact their family is broken leaves Eri and Tiha as bastards in their mother's eyes and Eri is painfully aware of that. She feels regret for her younger years where she wantonly bred with mortals to get back at her mother. She desperately wants to gain her mother's respect and support. She felt she had done so with a proper Angelique, and then later with the birth of her first daughter. Yet she still couldn't shake the feeling of ranking second in her mother's heart behind Narkissa. Eri feels intensely competitive with her sister, and might even hate her, though she'd never say so out loud.

Name: Tihamar

Personality: Despite being of the Ebil alignment, Tihamar is a darling, charming male. He’s kind to everyone that he meets, be they god or mortal. Of course, he does have a rather cheeky side to him. There’s nothing like a little bit of good-natured fun. He’s also remarkably determined. Once he gets an idea in his head, nothing will stop this stubborn guy from going ahead with his plan.

Above all others he adores his sister Eriannia and would willingly follow her to hell and back if she asked. He considers her high above everybody else, except of course for their mother. Tiha is a very family orientated guy. He’s usually easy-going, until you slight his beloved Eri, and then he won’t hesitate to speak up for her. Being naturally curious, he likes to explore everything and everywhere he can.

He always avoids physical conflict, until his other ‘side’ shows itself. Tiha randomly snaps, for no apparent reason, and when he does all hell breaks loose. In a violent rage he will destroy everything in his path. He is uncontrollable and extremely dangerous.

Though these episodes sadden him, Tiha accepts this side of himself. Afterwards he’ll do his best to fix the damage.

Name: Grave
Personality: Grave is a devious creature who uses cunning and trickery to hunt down vampires... or anyone else he wishes to hunt. He uses his bats as scouts and spies. There is little going on in the temple that he is not aware of or involved with. He collects information like it was gold and hoards it away for later use. When he met his Angelique he felt instantly in love and what's more he seems to have pleased Vesira, since she has treated Havea like a daughter ever since she arrived.
RP color: Green

Name: Havea
Personality: Havea had been an Angelique before, and born deity children. But her God disappeared one day and she was left lost and alone. Many years passed and she had accepted she would be alone for the rest of her days. But then she was found by Grave. He was strong and intelligent and clever and the most handsome God she had ever met. She felt complete in a way she had never quite felt with her previous mate. Walking into the Zamphir Temple felt like coming home for the first time in her life. She has begun working with Vesira to become the best hunter she can be, perfecting her fighting styles and strategies.

Name: Crypt
Likes:
Personality: Smart, cunning, clever, and dedicated to the cause. Focuses on the stealthy and secretive nature of vampire hunting. Goes out to find information, locations, numbers, etc. to report back to the temple. Hulda often follows Crypt and acts as a messenger between him and Najwa. Born with a defect, the little bat is mute. Despite this, he still manages his tasks with relative ease. He uses the bones he wears to aid in echolocation or to tap out coded messages. His hearing is slightly better than a normal bat and allows him to hear even the faintest of noises. This lets him stay farther back when acting as the go between. Thus letting the information get back to the temple faster.

Name: Najwa
Likes:
Personality: Najwa doesn't remember anything before waking in an old catacomb that was filled with Vampires. She was weak and could barely defend herself. Yet somehow, not only did she manage to, she killed them on her way out. Along the way she gathered various bones and fashioned them into armor. Some of the bones confused her as she didn't recognize what they could be from. Then again, she didn't know how she knew anything. She mentally filed away to look more into this tomb once she was out.

After a particularly rough fight, she was left sprawled on the ground too weak to get back up. While downed a small shape caught her eye. She feebly crawled over to it and realized it was a tiny baby bat. Carefully she lifted it and realized it was as injured as she was. Najwa gently clutched the poor thing to her willing it to be ok. At some point she passed out and when next she woke Crypt was in front of her. Just being with him seemed to fill her with renewed energy and vigor. She vowed herself to him in that moment. It was like love at first sight for her.

Once back at the temple, Najwa put all her efforts into researching the catacomb she had awoken in. Before long she was the foremost authority on all types of crypts, tombs, and sepulchers. She also kept detailed records of any place the Zamphirs explored in their hunts. The little bat she saved she named Hulda and became her eyes and ears out in the field. Eventually they worked out a code system for the mute bat to pass messages to and from her. This led the bat to being the direct go between for her and Crypt. Even when they were apart, small Hulda kept them united.

The ranking system is meant to be very competitive and zamphirs should strive always to be in the best standing possible with the Goddess.

Darkstalker

This is the equivalent of a High Priest(ess), and this title is sometimes used to refer to the darkstalkers. You are moved to the closest room to the goddess' personal chamber. You are an adviser, the highest part of the Court. To get here you must have proven yourself worthy to the Goddess. You must be an adept huntress, and a clever fighter. You must be intelligent and creative in your endeavors and prove yourself against your fellow zamphirs in battle.

You are highest in the goddess' favor and are granted extra strength, heightened senses, and one special ability to be agreed upon.

User Image
Vampirella: Has the ability to walk in sunlight. It helps keep up her secret that she is, in fact, a vampire. NO ONE knows this but the goddess herself.

User Image

Hunter

Sometimes also referred to as priest(ess). You are moved to a larger room in the wing of the temple closest to the goddess, but your room is in the outer portion. You are part of the Court, and the goddess has her eye on you. This is the highest honor a non-zamphir can achieve.

Neophyte

So you've impressed her! Congratulations! You have been awarded better rooms and better treatment, but you are still a lowly mortal. The Goddess will likely never appear to you personally, though she may send one of her bat attendants if she feels so inclined. You must clean the common areas of the temple and assist in anything those above you ask.

Whelp

This is but the beginning level of your service. The goddess has taken a shine to you, but you have a long way to go to become her favored. Your jobs keep you largely out of the public eye in the temple. You clean the private rooms and chambers of the other zamphir. You are lowly even to those zamphir above you. Hazing is common. You may be challenged to battle by those above you - both for instruction and for your insolence.

Temple Servant

User Image

Veria is the (unacknowledged) mortal child of Eriannia. She is not at all acknowledged as having Divine blood tracing back to Vesira, however she has worked hard to prove herself worthy of serving in the temple. It is a widely known fact what her bloodline is, but to speak of it is to risk the Goddess' ire.

Veria is considered a stain on the honor of Eriannia, and therefore cannot advance through the ranks. However, she is currently in the Goddess' favor and is to be respected as a servant to the temple.

Veria is a clever, manipulative creature and relishes in causing rifts in the ranks of the temple faithful, particularly considering how competitive the ranking system is. She loves to sow the seeds of mistrust and deceit, causing some of the ladies to fall from grace.

The court: (banner pending)

The responsibilities of the court include preparing others in their service to the Goddess, serving as advisers to the Goddess (the Darkstalkers only), helping in events the temple holds or sponsors, and keeping the Goddess happy in general.

Sterling peeked his head into the temple. "So this is a Zamphir temple." He chuckled softly to himself. "At least it's an improvement from staying at home. Too many goody-goody's there." Sterling took a few steps into the temple, striding in with a confident air. "I wonder if anyone's home."
PostPosted: Sat Jan 12, 2008 4:50 am
A bat squeaked and Vesira's eyes darted from it to the door. She had heard it too, of course. She reached up and stroked the creature. It crooned and rubbed against her, pleased at the attention. Vesira rose from her mighty perch and was in the next room with a god's speed. She appeared behind the mortal so quietly he could not have heard. She eyed him with suspicion, but said nothing as she observed him. Her bat attendants squawked in the other room and she grinned. "Come to me, Darlings!" She called, her sultry voice booming in the silence. All five bats came suddenly, flitting about swiftly and in a myriad display of spots and wings. They settled about the goddess, seeming to hover as they circled her slowly, calming themselves. They, too, eyed the newcomer. Vesira set her mismatched eyes to the mortal. "Greetings, traveler, and welcome to my domain." Her voice was icy, but indifferent. "Have you come to worship me?"

Sterling jumped, as Vesira had startled him, but he quickly recovered, and tried to act like he wasn't terrified of what she could do to him. "Sort of." Sterling replied, flashing a grin. "See, I'm lookin' for someplace to call home. Living with my housemate ain't cutting it, know what I mean? I heard this place offered room 'n board for those willing to serve the goddess. So, in that respect, yes I did come to worship you." Sterling folded his arms and looked at her more closely. "And now that I've come, I don't regret it. You've got to be the most beautiful diety I've ever seen in my life." What he wasn't going to tell her was that he hadn't seen any other dieties before. But, he figured it would be best to get in on her good graces from the start. Compliments couldn't hurt.
PostPosted: Sun Jan 13, 2008 5:22 pm
She reached an elegant paw out for one of her bat attendants to alight upon. The creature crooned as she stroked it's dark fur. It's yellow eyes were fixed upon Sterling and it flapped its wings at him. "Shh..." Vesira hissed at the bat and dropped her arm, forcing it into the sky once more. "Don't be so rude to our guest." Her voice was deceptively gentle as she looked back to Sterling, considering him thoughtfully. "If you wish to live here, you must obey my commands. I will appoint you tasks, and as you complete them, you will be given ranks. I accept you into this temple now as a Whelp, the first level of service. Your room will be down there." She gestured down the hallway whose door was open. The rooms down that hall were simple, but comfortable. "Your first manner of business is to find a suitable offering to leave on the altar. Once that is completed, a new task shall be appointed you." With that, she was gone in a flash, back to her throne room, leaving her bat attendants scrambling to catch up to her

"She's mighty sure of herself." Sterling remarked to himself. "I wonder if I'll be able to keep this up...trying to please the goddess nonsense. Sure, it could be tolerable...if she makes it so." He scowled as he left the temple, searching for something "suitable." Sterling walked for a while, and thought of nothing that he thought appropriate. He knew he had to bring something back, so he caught a few bugs for the bats, holding them hostage in one of his paws, and a silver mirror he stole from a nearby shop for the goddess. He gingerly laid the mirror down on the altar, but held the bugs, waiting for her to appear before him.
PostPosted: Sun Jan 20, 2008 3:30 pm
The bats preceded her appearance and fluttered about the baddie in a mad display before disappearing into the darkness of the rafters overhead. They're eyes glowed as they peered down at the male kat. Vesira was standing before Sterling in an instant, her back to him as she touched the mirror gently. She twisted her fingers around it slowly and lifted it to her face, tilting her head this way and that. "You have brought something else as well?" The question was more of a statement, yet she turned the mirror to gaze at him through it, her mismatched eyes probing him.

"Yes, goddess. I brought these bugs for your fluttering friends." Sterling said, releasing the bugs into the air. He felt scrutinized, like she was looking not only at the gifts, but his motives as well. He suddenly felt uneasy, and on edge. "Do you like them?" he asked, his voice a whisper. Sterling, a rough and tough Kat, felt awkward, something that hadn't happened since he was a child. Part of him yearned for Vesira's approval, and part of him wanted to go back to his old house, where at lease he could boss his housemate around.
