The Great Canyon

Chris smiled and turned to Leomon "Wish us luck Leomon and don't worry we'll be back soon" He said. He then walked into the cave with Skylar in hand and was soon sucked into the darkness.

Skylar frowned as they entered "Boy it sure got dark fast I wish we had a torch" He said. He then shook his head they needed to stay positive. Unfortunatly he couldn't see to far ahead of them. "Marq...Destin? you guys here?" He asked.

-As Chris and Skylar walk through the cave, they would be unaware that they were entering an unseen gate to the
Underworld.-

So this is the great canyon. lets head out to the digi battlefield

[[Dracomon and Dan emerge from a manhole into the Great Canyon]]
Dan clawed his way onto his feet, beating the dust off his jacket and jeans nonchalantly and poorly, before finally shifting his mop from his eyes with a groggy flick of the neck and seeing the Dracomon from the tube had already begun scaling the rock face ahead of them. Daniel scrambled to catch up but Dracomon payed it no mind, busy with the road ahead.
"Hey, um, Dracomon!" Dan called up while he grabbed into the grooves that the Dragon thing had made and followed after him, heaving against his tensed arms for a second but quickly gaining his footing. Dracomon merely grunted in response and increased his pace, audibly choking the force from himself to pound foot and hand holds into the rock faster.
"D'you know what that was about?" Dan increased his pace to match Dracomon but had already broken a sweat in this chalky heat. Dracomon continued to ignore Dan but he couldn't keep that pace up; his claws were hurting from it.
"You pass out to, huh?" Dan nearly let out a little chortle through his labouring breaths but Dracomon sent a dangerous glare his way before mumbling something.
"They cheated. Sneaking up on me like that." He winged it like a child before heaving himself up some more.
Dan got a chance to look around Dracomon's tail, after a while of climbing and realized the height they still had to scale.
"There's no way we'll be able to scale this without a break."
"WE won't, no." Dracomon said through a struggling growl.
"You're getting as tired as I am. We're both gonna need to find somewhere to rest soon or we'll both fall." Dracomon sighed and pointed to the remains of an old rope ladder that hung a few meters ahead of them and just to the right. The ends had frayed and rotted over years after what looked like it giving way.
"There should be a dug out cave at the top of that ladder, but we have to hurry. Pretty soon the canyon will get dark." Dan nodded in response and grunted, wincing with the burn in his shoulders and calfs as he doubled his efforts, they both did.
When Dan heaved over the ledge, Dracomon had gathered some old sticks and rocks from around into a fire at the back of the cave. There were some old furs around too.
"Story goes that early digimon carved these into the rock to live in." Dracomon sighed before he spat a beam bullet onto the makeshift fire, lighting it up suddenly. "Wrap that fur around you. It's gonna get real cold and we can't move till midday tommorow. Up ahead it looked like it got less steep so we can finish in one day." Dan followed instructions and wrapped himself up, huddling against the wall next to the fire while Dracomon sat at the other side of it.
"Why'd you follow me all the way up here?" Dan only shrugged in response while he gazed at the fire, embers reflected in his eyes.
"Guess it's 'cause I had no other option," he laughed weakly while he rubbed his raw, cut up hands together softly, the loose skin dropping off, into his lap. "I'm gonna get some sleep. You should too." Dracomon nodded and they bother closed their eyes, collapsing pretty quick.

The Sun had risen over the canyon and the walls had begun to light up in immaculate oranges, reds and yellows. It was a totally clear day and the heat had begun to radiate through the small cave. The heat alone was enough to wake the more sensititve Dracomon but Dan had no such luxury or, as he had always seen it, such an inconvenience. Dracomon rolled hius eyes at the laziness of the boy and asked himself: Why am I even waking this kid? He stopped for a second and considered it, scratching the underside of his chin with one claw on his right hand. I could turn around and leave him here. He's not my problem. Dracomon shook it off. This kid wouldn't survive in the Digital World by himself and it wasn't like he was hurting anyone. He sighed and poked Dan on his bare chest, Dan had pulled his shirt off about an hour ago, as the cave heated up and the fur had been kicked off an hour before that. Dan snapped awake and scrambled along the wall when he felt the sharp prod against his rib, his skin not comparing to Dracomon's scales in terms of resistance to sharp objects.
"What the hell do you think you're doing!?" Dan nearly wailed, in response to the sharp jab, warranting a threateningly raised eyebrow and growl from Dracomon who was unlinkely to take nearly as much lip now that he had chosen the moral high-ground.
"Don't be such a baby. The sun's up. Let's get a move on. The distance may be smaller than last time but I've still got a long way to the Digi-Jungle and make sure to get that fur. You'll probably need it later." Dracomon didn't wait for a response; he walked straight forward and whipped around the side of the cave mouth, making new hold as he went, though natural holds were becoming more frequent and the angle of ascent was already decreasing. If Dan wanted to stay behind and starve to death, Dracomon was willing to let him but he's have to do it alone. Of course, Dan had no intention of dying and, as if in arrogant protest, he scrambled to his feet, pulled his top over him and tied the blanket and his jacket to the back of his jeans, looping and knotting them both through his belt. He put in the effort to catch up quick.
Soon enough Dan was right behind Dracomon and the climb was more of a steep walk. It was still safest to hug the rock face to maintain balance but Dracomon didn't need to make grooves any longer and neither of them needed the now much more frequent natural grooves and rocks.
Dan tightened the knots on the fur and his jacket just as they clambered over the top of the canyon, presented by a vast range. The Sun had started going down again by the time they were over the Canyon but it was a long time before nightfall.

Kain walked through the portal with the evil digimon zeedmillenniummon aka ace behind him. ''That was boring and so is this place lets see what else is in this world.'' he opened around portal and walked through. ''Heh watever my lord.'' he grinned then followed his tamer.

Marcus, the Loner & Mercenary...

In a burst of light, Anubismon had materialized at the Great Canyon, holding both Marcus and Gaomon. He released the two and looked around where they were. "We have arrived... are you sure about this? I mean, would it be better not to confront the past?"

"Marik, if I want to move on from this then I have to face him and it. I can't keep running anymore." Marcus took off to an old shack that he knew to be Leomon's Dojo for Tamer and digimon alike. He pulled out his digivice and summoned Hiro, the Leomon, from it. "I've come back. You wanted me to and here I am."

"Good... When you feel that you've lost your way, you simply must retrace your steps and pick up from there." Leomon spoke with a smile as he appeared from the digivice and on the Mountain, "Now we must figure out what it is that you must do to reclaim yourself. You are a completely different person when around other tamer, but with us... you're still the same, that is now right."

"I know... I know... now can you open the door. I want to go in now." Marcus looked down, not wanting to look into Hiro's powerful eyes for fear that me may lose it and have a breakdown.

"Fine then... I'm not sure what you hope to find... but hopefully it will be for the better." Hiro walked to the entrance of the dojo and put his paw onto the door. A light glow moved from the hand to the door and caused the vines to move away and for life to come back to the building. "It has been too long my brothers to long indeed." He began to have flashbacks of all the others that belonged to the group that he was in. Greymon, Darkdramon, Seadramon, Renamon, Boltmon, Garudamon, and the Bug brothers Kabuterimon & Kuwagamon... and Lucemon

Marcus walked in and traced the wall, realizing the memories that he had left there so long ago. He found the picture of Leomon's pupils, him, Chris, and Jericho. Bringing the picture close he hugged it, feeling tears streaming down his face.

Gaomon can in and threw himself on the futon, getting comfortable. "Make yourself at home, Marik... we're gonna be here for a while." Gaomon began to take a nap before the drama happened.

Chris sighed as he rode Dante into the Great Canyon. This place had so many memories. He had Dante slow down as they arrived at the shack. He quickly got off of him and raised his digivice calling out a second partner this time it was Skylar. The biyomon smiled as he looked around he was glad to see the old place again. "Everyone on your toes Seraphimon told me to come here but he didn't say why" He said. He then walked over to the Shack and opened the door. "Is anyone here?" Dante called as he stuck his head through the door.

Gaomon continued to lay down with his eyes closed. He sniffed the air and his ears perked up. With a smile he said, "We've got coooooommmmmpaaaany!"

Marcus jumped a bit on the inside as he knew exactly who it was that was at the door, "I... I knew you would come Chris. It would seem that the angels aren't as corrupt as we thought." He continued to face the wall, keeping the picture close.

Anubismon was perched against the wall and not at all happy to see Chris there. He wanted to destroy them, but knew that at this point it would only make things worse.

Hiro smiled as he went to welcome Chris. "Ah... nice to see you again. It's been so long and I'm glad to know that you are well... there is a lot of training that you have to make up for." he balled his hand into a fist and had an evil grin on his face. The grin then broke as he then figured that now was not the time, but later it would be.

Chris wanted more than anything to run to Marcus and have things be like they were, but he knew things weren't the same they had both changed he saw that now. "I only came because Seraphimon told me to" He said. He looked at Marcus "You were wrong when you said I was a child...I had grown up but I wanted my friend back...however, it may be too late for that" He said. He closed his eyes "I helped the knights obtain the memory in the tower" He said. He looked at his digimon then at his crest it was still cracked and dim. He had hoped regaining his voice had shown his spirit was strong but he was still as spiritually broken as ever. In fact it was almost to the point that the crest would be destroyed.

"I'm glad to hear that you got the memory. I figured that if anyone could get the memory... it would be you." Marcus sat the picture down, adjusting it so that it would sit up as it had before. "I also know that Seraphimon told you to come here. I asked him to tell you since I am a member of The Vaccine Sentinel, that's how I knew everything about that place and the fact that there was a memory there." Marcus turned toward Chris and had a slight smirk. He followed the boy's gaze down to his crest, causing his smirk to shift to a frown. "Yeah... sorry if I caused that, I never meant for it t--"

"WILL YOU TWO JUST SHUT, MAKE UP, AND QUIT ACTING LIKE YOU'RE NOT GLAD TO SEE EACH OTHER?! It's starting to annoy me..." Gaomon sat up and glared at both Chris and Marcus. "Geez, either that are fricken duke it out like you want to!!"

Chris listened to Marcus he owed Seraphimon atleast that much. He was suprised to hear Marcus's words were kind and sincere like they had been so long agao. He looked at him and frowned not sure if he could be strong much longer. "...Marcus.." he said. He then herd Gaomon and frowned not sure which he really wanted to do. To be honest he wanted to hug his old friend but at the same time he wanted to back hand him for putting him through hell. His decisions were pulled to a halt as Skylar shoved Chris into Marcus. In the end he broke. "Marcus...I'm sorry...I didn't mean to leave and hurt you like that" He said. He look down trying to hide his tears from him. He wanted to be strong and not seem like a child anymore. He frowned "I'm sorry I'm so childish..I tried to be strong like you wanted me to but...but I can't I know this may mean you never want to speak to me again..." He said his tears falling now. Dante walked over to Destin "So how do you think this will go between them?" He asked.

Destin looked at Dante and chuckled, "I have no idea, I just want them to stop it so I can get me a nice nap. In the life we live, there isn't much time to sleep." Destin fell back on the futon, moving his paws behind his head. He looked at the ceiling and then to Dante, "What do you think?"


Marcus froze as Chris was thrown into him, he had no idea what to do at this moment. He looked at Destin, Hiro, and Marik for some sign of assistance, but none came. "I... I... umm..." Marcus rubbed the back up his head, not knowing whether to let Chris do all the talking, comfort him, or continue to push him away. Destin's words were a sign to end it, but the question was: which way to end it...
