To me, winter is the time to curl up in blankets (usually with a critter or 2 as well) and read a good book!
What are you all reading right now?

I love to read. Winter break is just about the only time I don't have something that I NEED to read and get to pick through whatever I like. (I hate uni and all it's required reading. Makes me sad.)
I'm trying to get through War and Peace, at the moment. I love Tolstoy's style. (Anna Karenina is my second favourite book.) It's so lovely - but every time I pick this book up, something happens where I end up not being able to get past the first hundred pages. As a result, I've reread the beginning of the book at least a half dozen times. It's my goal to finish it before the year is out!
I'm also reading a nonfiction book about gladiators rather creatively titled The Gladiators. I had to read an exerpt for a book review and got hooked. Very interesting stuff. heart (I need to stay out of the historical nonfiction section of Barnes and Noble. I spend so much money there. XD)

Right now I am reading The Golden Compass. The book has all three of the stories combined. So far it is a good read. I also love the Dune novels. I like scifi/fantasy the best althought if the topic is good, I'll read it. I'm a bookworm nerd!

Well, I'm the oposite, I read in the summer. In the winter I'm too busy skiing. I kind of like children's books. Harry Potter, I started reading when I was like 10, and so I had to finish the series, it was so hard to see characters I've known for 9 years die. I also like Warriors. It's a fantasy book about wild cats, but not like, tigers and such, domestic in size and look but that live in the wild and have different clans and such.

FUN. That sounds funny. I am now reading Fly by Night by Frances Hardinge and so far LOVING it. It is fantasy, but not HIGH fantasy... more like a drawn out fairy tale. And very funny.

I'm reading a book called Katarina. It's about this little girl in slovakia during WWII. she's technically jewish, but her family doesn't practice any holidays so she doesnt understand when her family goes off to hide. it's pretty good and it's a real tear-jerker. cry
