ok, here's my first attempt at starting a digimon rp here, play nice.
OOC rules
Please if your making a post that's out of character, or has anything out of character, double bracket it [[your post here]]. Anyone asking to join and stuff like that, bracket please.
Minimum length for one post is three lines
Maintain post order, if you know ahead of time you're going to be gone for a long period of time please contact me, we can try and find a way for your character to either go off on their own for something, or some way that others can keep playing.
You may play ONE character, if you wish to have a digimon partner the partner needs to be another player. If you wish to play a digimon all I ask is that you check with me before you post.
The story thus far.
This plot will take place in the United States after World War III. In this universe all the European countries united under what was known as , the grand empire. On Earth only two powers were known, the United States, and the Grand Empire. And due to the communistic fashion of the Grand Empire the United States declared war..... A war which we lost. Through a long war, in which the Grand Empire discovered the digital world, and used it to their advantage during the war. The United States was facing a mass genicide, and the lack of digimon, or as they were referred to by the U.S. citizens as the Empired Demon Seed, finally the U.S. agreed to disolve into the Grand Empire, allowing the president and a few other leaders to take seats among the emperor and his cabinet, which the world acknowledged as the Second Empire.
Even though the war is over, all is not well in the old states. The States has been left in a state, much like Germany at the end of WWII. The citizens are 'hunted' by those considering themselves true bloods to the empire, and the old U.S. citizens are forced to carry around recognition papers, proving that they are the former citizens. Even though most of the citizens are forced to carry papers, a few have managed to slip under the radar, and this is known to the empire. But this knowledge has made the true bloods slip into a series of accusations, one that has left the States in a odd type of 'salem witch trial' experience.
Despite the overwhelming odds, a group of fighters and rebels are still attempting to overthrow the Second Empire, but without a leader, and seeing as somehow whenever a leader is declared he goes missing or gets captured, they are having little to no progress... These fighters, known to those who uphold their morals as the freedom fighters, are widely frowned upon. Having no organization, and having every person who wants to act out against the Second Empire, declare themself a freedom fighter has left this group looking more like renegade terrorists. The freedom fighters have even taken to bombing the Empires supply lines, which are shipped along civilian subways, causing a large casualty count. But these fighters truely believe what they are doing is just, that there is no other way to get back at the Empire right now, and that any innocent lives lost in their attacks is for the greater good. Despite being branded as devilish terrorists, the freedom fighters truely believe they are right. They hold memorials and special burials for anyone they know was caught in the line of fire, and still mourn the loss of life. The way they see it is that the Empire is hiding behind civilian shields, but every once and awhile if the thing behind the shield is big enough, braking the shield is worth it.
Another hurdle the freedom fighters must jump, is the introduction of the Empires Demon Seed, also known as digimon. When the Grand Empire discovered the digital world, it's inhabitants were met with less then friendly gestures. Although war was not declared upon the digital world, blockades were set up to insure that no digimon could travel to the human world un-noticed. The Empire even went further to bring digimon they saw fit, into the human world, where they are treated more like resources then living beings. The digimon are put to work, primarily in military uses, but also in high level construction use, and other labor methods. The digimon, who's core belief was that every digimon had a human partner somewhere that they were ment to serve, do not see how they are treated as bad or cruel, they believe that they are around to serve the humans, and therefor count the Empire entering their world as their dream come true.
Now despite the Empires attempt to regulate digimon entering the human world, digivices and digi-destined along with tamers still occasionally show up, appearing at random both in their ranks and opposing them. The Empire usually sees these appearances as a threat, seeing as they have no controle over the digimon or tamers that appear. When a digivice appears for someone in the Empire, it's looked at as a blessing, as a gift of power. The human and digimon it appeared to are instantly promoted to the data squad. The Data squad is a division of the Empire who's soul purpose is to track down rouge digimon. Rouge digimon is any digimon and tamer/digi-destined that appeared outside of the Empires controle.
