I've noticed a few people on here that are wayy to religious. I'm not gonna point any finger's *cough*beliver of god*cough* but why does everything have to do with god?

Just because you like to listen to emo or metal and otherwise athiest music dosent mean your evil and will burn in hell. And just because an athiest wrote a book or a movie dosent mean its a terrible movie.

I enjoy discussions on religion as long as things remain civil. First to answer your questions:
Are you Religious? Yes, very.
Why? I've never really thought of why. I suppose because my religion is a big part of who I am. My beliefs and my lifestyle are pretty much interchangable.
Do you think overly religious people are annoying? Only the ones who force their beliefs on others.
Do you like to eat pizza >:3 Yes, I do. With everything, even anchovy occasionally. Does that make me weird?
I am Gnostic. That is a different religion than Agnostic. I don't believe that you will go to Hell for any of the choices you make in this life. Gnostics believe the physical world we live in is Hell. If you make bad choices or lead a bad life, you will simply be reborn into this world until you are worthy of returning Home to join God. I don't think God cares what kind of movies you watch or what music you listen to. What is important is what kind of person you are. If you go out of your way to help people, or are the kind of person anyone would be lucky to know, does it really matter what religion you are or if you believe in God? You can decide for yourself.
I don't believe in telling people that their religion is wrong, or trying to convince them that my religion is the only right one. I believe in being tolerant of other's beliefs, even if I don't agree with them. I am glad to discuss my beliefs or answer questions on my religion, but a person has to show an interest in wanting the discussion. I know this thread wasn't aimed at me. I just wanted you to know that not all religious people will cram their beliefs down your throat.

Never heard of Gnostic. but yea I know what you mean, being tolerant and what not but because of the way I act I've been told many time's im going to die by some kind of monster and or demon and will spend the rest of time in hell D:< get's old fast ><

I'm very religious.I'm a Christian,but I don't believe fun and metal is the devilXDI also don't attack people for having thier opinion or being gay or something like that.Yes,as a part of my religion I do believe some things are considered evil and immoral,but I do not discriminate against people.So many Christians recieve a bad name because they attack and judge,but if you really read the bible you will find that it's about love and and compassion toward fellow man and not hate.It is sad that so many people don't understand this though.
And yes I like pizza...>.>

HI,
I am a very strong Christain, and resently had a huge blessing. Do you guys know what Arthritis is? Well my knees hurt when i do alot of physical work, and i hust got back from a mission trip where i did alot of physical work, and normally my joints would have killed me with there pain from what i was doing, but they didn't hurt that week! It was such a blessing, and yes i find people who shove their religious views on people are annoying. But i do believe that there is hell, and people will go their based on there dissesions, and no matter how "good" they are, without Faith in God, they will noit go to Heaven. That doesn't mean that you have to live your life "perfectly", because the only human who is and will ever be Perfect is God's Son Jesus Christ. One of my favorite verses from the Bible is...
"For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Begotten Son, that whosoever belevith in Him, will not persish, but have ever lasting life"

And i absoutly LOVE pizza.
And Have any of you heard of or read the Twillight Saga by Stephenie Meyer?
I absolutly LOVE those books, and they have Vampires and Warewolfs in them, and thats fine.

Yea dont wanna start up a a big fight but in the bible God floods the earth and kill's alot of people :3 Not very nice, kinda fun though biggrin

I don't know why I believe, but I realized when I was about 15, that I really do. At that age I had stopped going to church, praying, etc. for about one year because I needed to find out, if I really believed or I was just "used" to it because my family does. In the end I realized that I do believe in God and I think the teachings of Jesus are needed to make a peaceful word, BUT you can follow that without believing in God. Just because you do not believe in God, or in my form of God that does mean that you do not value life. I don't believe in heaven and hell like a "place". I think it is a relationship to God. If you do bad stuff in your life you will have to take the consequences and will be judged by God. Since God is the ultimate friend you will feel like a fire is burning your hearts. I guess everyone knows what it feels like when a friend is disappointed because of you. I think it is just that feeling a lot lot LOT more intense. I don't like religious extremists in any form. And people who always talk about what kind of media should be from the devil are extremists to me. A genre cannot be against God, it is the texts that can be and those are written by the songwriters. But not even THEY are the devil. You might say, that they were influenced, but in the end everybody has the choice what he wants to do. It is not like anyone would become a zombie or something... Blaming everything for being part of the devil is just too easy. So you do not have to take responsibilty... pffff... That also goes for people who take the bible too literally. Of course to me it is THE book, but it was written by (inspired) men and they had to put the teachings in a form that everybody would understand them. Therefore I doubt that you can take them literally. Also they were written a long time ago, when people had different problems than we do. Like "who gets the cattle when I die". People should always keep that in mind. Therefore I hate that stupid "Who is so stupid to think anyone could walk on water"-discussions. The important thing of my religion are not miracles in physic, but the believe that all life should be loved. And therefore you do not need to walk on water. BTW I like pizza, but I do not eat it that often. Too much fat in it^^

HI again,
First i am not trying to start a fight, just saying my point of view on things.
God did flood the earth because there were so many wicked people, but He also said He would never do that again. Not everyone perished, or we wouldn't be here, God had Noah be His messanger, but most of the people refused to listen to Noah, and didn't get on the Ark, so they drowned. That story is normally protrated as a happy little kid story, but when you really think about it, it is not. A really good book i read two years ago is called The Screw Tape Letters by C.S. Lewis.

Well yea alot of people think the flood really did happen, but had nothing to do with god >< They think for some reason it just rained alot at the "world" was flooded but yea the "world" was mainly the middle east >< so there world would have been flooded.
And Yea I read the bible all the way through and what not >< Im in a christian school so the bible isent a small subject.

Reread it on your own time and think about what God is trying to say to you. Also try flipping through the Bible and picking a random page and verse and then read it. But think about it, not as a story from a book, but that it has a secret meaning only few can discover. 3nodding

But then I would be lieing to myself, It is a book and the only thing about the bible we can prove is that the humans did exist. And personaly it was boring the first time >< I hate reading D:

I'm a christian, and i don't think that anything you said in the first post refers to me. I LOVE music.
Magic, I think that it's not real, and belongs in storys and video games.
And wtf is that about fun? Me and my family live great lives -.-' I'm not a big fan of over religious people either, but that does'nt give me a right to judge them. A couple of my friends are atheist. I really don't care, because we never bring it up. But I am christian, and I'm proud of it.
And yes, Pizza is nummy. ninja

Well fun isent allway's "nice" and what I learned growing up is almost everything you do is a sin, I mean seriously, Being born is a sin? A new born baby that has no idea of what a sin is made one..really?...

I think it's not as strict as it was a decade or so ago. Now Christians realize that having fun, enjoying yourself, and using your imagination will not kill you and make you a bad person, in fact it's the opposite it will diversify your life and make you more aware that people are different and need to be treated as such.
Are you Religious?- no atheist.. I don't believe in god or any other form of a god-like being
Why? because it's unlikely that it could happen.. and other reasons..
Do you think overly religious people are annoying? Yes, but I'm very open-minded.. I'm friends with some girls who are VERY religious, one girl's father is one of the head's of the church and another's father is the priest and we respect each other's views. I also love going to Christian rock concerts !!!

BTW: How do you feel about gays? If god REALLY exists.. why would he put gays on earth if they are SO WRONG?
