I work at a local pet shop in our mall in Rochester, NY. We've recently gotten three new puppies, Pug/Cavalier mixes. Unfortunatly, there was an outbreak of parvo at our breeders site. Those three puppies were infected, and one was beyond help.
It was a girl, ony 8 weeks old. I had to hold her tiny head in my hands as our doctor put her down. I watched her eyes as they lost their sight.
I thought I would be ok with doing it, since I needed the experience. I believed that because I had no emotional attachments to that puppy, I would be alright. But.. the more I think about it, the more I replay it in my head, the sadder I get.
So.. RIP, little Pug/Cavalier, perhaps I'll see you across the Rainbow Bridge.

Poor puppy. I was there with my dog Scooter when he was put down. After he was gone I looked into his eyes and they looked the same but there was an emptyness in them. It was creepy. Its always sad to put down an animal if there your's or not.
