Help is needed with my character design

I'm designing the main character for the manga which I plan on making.
The headshot looks wrong though:

The character will be 21 with a medium build, What I think is wrong is the overall head wideness/length, these seem to make him look younger then I intended.
Any advice would be appreciated. ^^

hmmmm i dont really see anything wrong with it [randome but i love the scar xd ] but if u had to fix something it would have to be to show the neck more or something like that but personally it looks fine to me smile

Thanks, I'll look at lengthening the neck, maybe thinning it too.

To make him look more mature you could try broadening the chin and sharpening the jawline. That usually happens to males as they grow up. rofl Oh and perhaps thicken the eyebrows a little just 'cause guys seem to have thick eyebrows (I mean more masculine guys). But I like him. He's a cool lookin' character. Also, lengthening the neck as mentioned would be favorable. Good luck with your series. mrgreen

Just one suggestion from me, try to lengthen his face a bit too. It will help if he has higher cheekbones because it makes characters look more mature. I hope it helps. 3nodding

I've gotta agree with the others about lengthening the face and neck. One thing I usually notice with men in manga is that the mouth, though thin, is usually fairly wide. That might help as well.

Tinier eyes too, I usally see big eyes on young guys in anime. :9

Here is what I've come up with at the moment.

I think the only possible things wrong now could be the eye and ear height and the mouth still.
I've added a beard too, the most it will be is stubble, but I don't have any idea how to draw stubble lol.
