Hi, Aine! Long time no see!
If you got married to your significant other what would your last name be?
I am married, I kept my last name. I was 30 when I got married and saw no reason to change. Neither did he, and we're happy this way.
What did you do this afternoon?
Took a nap. I had a screaming sinus headache that took hours to go away.
When do you plan on having kids?
I don't. Some of us are just not cut out for that. I am the weird aunt that every child needs in their life. (I was fortunate. I had two weird aunts. They were great fun and showed me so many new things.)
Can you use chopsticks?
Yes. I can pick up half peanuts flat side down and slippery chow fun with them, so I have some dexterity.
Were you a hyper or mellow kid?
Mellow. Still am.
Why did you throw up last?
Food poisoning. 'Nuff said.
Last time you were drunk?
Well over a year ago.
What's for dinner?
Not sure yet. We're going out somewhere.
What color is your car?
Dirty dark red. Dirty because I'm very lazy about getting it washed.
Would you take a bullet for anyone?
Not intentionally. I'd do my best to make sure we were both safe.
Baths or showers?
Showers. I don't much like baths. I find them dull.
What's the best part about being single?
Fewer obligations. Even if you like your in laws, they provide you with a whole new set of holiday and other obligations, and that gets tiring after awhile.
What are you going to do now?
Probably get another glass of ice water.
Do you regret something you did yesterday?
Nope.
What’s the last thing you ate?
A small handful of Thai Chili Lime Cashews from Trader Joes. They are SO GOOD.
Do you have anything in your pockets right now?
Nope.
How many windows are open on your computer?
I have six visible, and at least another two under those. I'm a multiple windows kind of person, not a tab person.
Last person you saw besides family?
Probably the cashier in the place we ate breakfast.

Is there someone you wish you were with right now?
Nope. I'm at home with my husband and my cats. Life is good.
Would you cry if you found out you were pregnant?
I think I'd be more annoyed and surprised than anything.

I have never sent a text message from my cell phone. No reason. No one to send it to.
I email a lot, though. I think the last email I sent was to my father (who's 70).
Do you like your current relationship status?
Yeah, I do. I don't think marriage is for everyone and I certainly wouldn't tell people they "ought" to get married. It's a very personal decision that only you and your intended can make.
Do you still talk to the last person you dated?
Since I married the last person I dated, yes. If you mean the last person before that, no, I don't, but I do hear news of him once in awhile from mutual friends. I still wish him all the best in life and I'm pleased to hear he's happy.
Do you hate being alone?
No. I need my alone time to recharge.
Has anyone ever broken your heart?
Of course.
Where was the last place you went shopping?
Office Depot. I bought this nice new computer chair I'm sitting in right now. The old one had finally given out and was giving me back pain.
How do you feel about your hair?
When I was younger, I hated it. Everyone else in my family has stick straight hair, and I ended up somehow with very curly hair. No one knew what to do with it so they treated it as straight hair that misbehaved, which made matters even worse.
Years later, I have made my peace with the fact that my hair isn't defective straight hair, it's perfectly wonderful curly hair, and now that I treat it as such, it looks great and is so easy to take care of.

Yes.

-Mellow, though that's because I don't like people much. Hyper around those I'm comfortable with.

Worked an overtime shift. Then? Took a nap. We're getting some wind gusts from Hurricane Gustav's storm bands, so there's no use in being on the roads.

Yeah! Admittedly, it would be nice to date someone, but in my current living arrangement, it's not really possible.
