I agree. The eyes are a bit big (unless that's the look you are trying to achieve.) The arms get a little pointy and the hands are a bit too small.

The hair is pretty nice though, and you have some nice curves going on.

First of all, it's a great start! You seem to have already gotten a great character design.

For the drawing itself, just like TheWrittenDeath said, it's a bit disproportional. The head is a bit large, the hands and hips are a bit small, and the neck is a bit long. Look at human anatomy books, they really help. With the female body, typically you'd find more hips. (of course it's depending on body type whether or not it's more apparent.) The drawing is also a bit flat. My suggestion is you start off with simple shapes to give both depth and proportion. You can use ovals and circles to give a nice rounded shape so the body seems more three dimensional. You can also use these to under-sketch and layout the proportions better. When I think I got a shape for the body I like, I hold it up to a mirror to see it from a different point of view and from what I find, I can see the flaws in the drawing better.

Well that my advise. I really like where you are gong with the drawing! As I said, it's a great start! Keep it up! biggrin

like wat Chansey_is_Hot said, it does look disproportional. remember wen drawing the face there should be at least a space as big as the eye in the middle. try drawing like a self portrait type thing. well idk. i used to have the same problem. ask around i used to draw my eyes SO big until i found my new style, which is like awsome by the way mrgreen , but i still draw big eyes so if u like the eyes stick with them. continuing with wat i was saying about the disproportion stuffs, the neck looks kinda long but in a good way. the sholders look fine to me. the arms look kinda stick like. try making them a tad bit bigger or try putting some muscle tone or something like that on the arms. last thing i have to say is that the girl doesnt realli have a waist try fixing that. other then that its good. u shouldve seen my first anime drawings.....lets just say i burned them all lol. now, after many MANY attempts ive gotten where i want to b and im happy now mrgreen . keep up the good work!!!! biggrin

You need to improve on using the shift key.

Learning to self evaluate and identify areas that you WANT to work on first is a valuable learning tool. What do you think is wrong with this? What would you like to improve about this piece? What would you like to keep the same?
From my first impressions I see the balance is terrible and the anatomy needs a lot more work- oh no she's falling over sideways under the weight of that giant skull! And she'll never be able to get back up with those little toothpick arms!
Let's fix it with redlines!
User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.
See how the shapes are drawn on top of each other? If you draw lightly, then it's okay to draw shapes on top of shapes- this is called drawing through. You may not see the area in the finished product, but because you take the time to draw through it will ALWAYS look better.
Let's give her some better hips- girls are actually much wider at the bottom! And while we're at it put some meat on her bones and even give her elbows! And hands!
Notice the little face diagram in the top right corner? I hope it's self explanatory as a guide for how to construct the basis of the head. I'll say it again though- hair does not cut into the skull!

oxellebellxo- Posting your own art in someone else's thread is spam. The only time it's allowed is in the case of redlining such as I have done here. A critique is not simply saying "what they said" followed by personal anecdotes. It's been a long while since I kicked people out for stupid- don't tempt me.
