I've read thru all these statements .... but all I'm reading is Obama ... change.. McCain ... Bush-like...


It seems like none of you listened to the debates. Small Businesses are going to be in trouble (Obama will be giving tax breaks to the ones who don't need them) Lower income families will HAVE to carry insurance on their children or else get fined! I reckon no one else on here has been in the position of making too much money to qualify for medi-caid for their kids but couldn't afford the + $100 a week insurance costs for family coverage. Having to go to a clinic where there not even a real doctor employed, and getting on a sliding scale just to get antibotics for a sick child. Now, we can go to the clinics and guess what? not only no sliding scale but also have to worry about a fine because we can't afford health care! Thankfully, we have health coverage right now. But what happens if my hubby loses his job? Health coverage isn't even offered at my place of employment, (which it turns out IS a small business where chances are will be in trouble in the near future).

Enough of all the worrying about the Bush administration. I'm sure all of you were swearing him out while you cashed your stimulus check at the beginning of this year.

I'm not wanting to argue with anyone, I just want you to think of the whole package. Not just what the newscasters tell you to think about.

I never listen to newscasters. I watched all the debates. I read candidate websites. All candidates exaggerate opponents' plans' consequences, and no president can deliver all of what he promises. Nevertheless, we must choose.

I believe the Republican party rewards winners, even robber barons. I believe the Democratic party protects and provides opportunities for everyone, even lazy cheats. Given those choices, I'd rather protect and provide for those who don't deserve it, than reward those who crush others.

Clinton's time in office seems to say otherwise... Bush gets way too much of a bad rap. He inherited alot of crap from Billary, and war after 9-11 was inevitable. Even Obama would have followed in the same lines back then because the nation demanded blood. I really don't think McCain is anything close to Bush, at all. He's a liberal. Most of the Republican party hates him. They just prefer him to Obama.

Bush did not inherit anything from Bill but a clean bill on money. Then he raped the whole budget. Bin Laden hates the Bush and Daddy Bush. He retaliated on Daddy Bush. You should remember that if you read or watched Tv.

I do agree with you on McCain though. I turned Democrat for Hillary and voted for McCain to support our troops that are still fighting for a cause and if the world understood a little of the politics, then they would know that McCain helped support the Bail out program but still had to support the troops and what they are doing until they get back here. Duh

DEBATES MEAN NOTHING! it is what they are physically doing at the moment for this country and their past support. That is the problem to much tv and crap and not enough reading. Read some stuff on the past Presidents and you will be amazed at what went on in and out of the White house

And Bush inherited a recession from Bill, no clean bill of anything. And let's not forget Hillary's pathetic attempt at re-vamping health care. It's like selective memory... And please, 9-11 happened because one old man hates the Bushes?! Radical arabs hate our entire damn nation! They have made threats long before Bush, during Clinton's time in office and ever since they discovered tv and internet. What happened was inevitable because everyone underestimated the power of radical hate in a backwards region of the world. Saying that's the Bush's fault is turning a blind eye to the entire situation.

My concerns were being a Middle Class family, working in Healthcare, in a position that I work with thousands who are on Medicare or any other federal-related insurance program (Tricare, Martin's Point, ChampVA, VA Hospital, etc)

Far too many political races, they all have said they were going to bring tax relief to the middle class, gonna do this for the middle class, that for the middle class, yadda yadda yadda. Im numb at this point on that topic. If a positive change happens for us Middle class wage earners, I think I would be in shock to be honest.

I have been working in health care now for 12 years. Let me tell you how horrible it is these insurance companies can get away with NOT paying. Especially all the cuts Medicare goes through and continues to go through. As a certified medical reimbursement specialist, my job is to battle the big guns of insurance when the insurance companies screw up. Thats a full time job right there. I hate it when they go against their own policy, slap the patient with a massive bill and think they can get away with it.

Ive got a case right now pending in appeals for a surgery that was done. The insurance crossed a $2000.00 bill to the patient saying "services performed does not meet medical necessity nor warrant the need for assisting surgeons".... the patient had surgery the day before, was rushed back in again the next day because his stitched up intestines EXPLODED and caused his bowel contents to flood his entire abdomen! Thats a two surgeon job, not one... So, Im crossing my fingers that the appeals division can see the light of COMMON SENSE (I realize thats a bad word LOL), and get this bill paid. If it gets paid, then the patient will only have a 40.00 balance instead of $2000.

There was no way a McCain administration would have done good to the world of healthcare. Not to mention, no politician, including Palin, has the right to tell me what goes on behind the doors with my physician. Someone said her abstinence campaign backfired right to her face due to her pregnant daughter.

I completely agree.

Chris Rock also put it really well: "In an election, go for the person who has one house"... That person has everything to lose. Certainly well put.

If Barack Obama "pals around with terrorists" because his "political career started in Bill Ayers living room" (nevermind the fact that the domestic terrorism Bill Ayers was involved in happened when Obama was 8yrs old and that then-Senator Alice Palmer was introducing him as her *succesor* to a few of the area's influential liberals so one could say at that point his political career was already started because he was a senator-elect), it's safe to say that John McCain owns more than one house because he's married to a woman who owns like 8 of them lol.
This election has been utterly fascinating to me. Everyone is so involved and opinionated. It's awesome that people care even though I'm not really surprised with the way things are going right now. Its rare when it's so blatantly obvious that you can look at a specific period of time and know that its historic and important. Not just because he's black either although that does add sparkles and glitter to the whole belief that this time "it's different". I just hope it turns out well and not as "the moment we doomed ourselves to failure and didnt realize it."

Ugh- just because McCain's wife owns seven houses doesn't mean that McCain does!!!! She has all the money, not him, and he doesn't get to touch a dime of it! THEY ARE NOT HIS HOUSES PEOPLE, HE ONLY OWNS ONE. Kripes, you really gotta be stretching for s**t on McCain if all you can get on him is 'he must own all his wife's houses'.

Maybe his name isnt on the paperwork, maybe it is but so what? They're married so I'm sure he probably has access to the houses. I'm fairly sure that every marriage doesnt work the same as mine but my husband's baggy sweat pants arent even safe from me. It's called sharing. smile
It doesn't even really matter. Its not like everybody is out to get McCain. The election is done. Personally, I wasn't overly impressed with his behavior and choices during the campaign. I was impressed by the grace and honor in his speech on election night. If I'd seen more of that John McCain over the last year or so, I'd have voted for him hands down. As it was, I got Sarah Palin and the chance to watch the poo fly. rolleyes

Obama is the new "messiah", seeing everyone cry at his speeches and promising all these terrific new ideas. In fact one woman said she won't have to worry about her car or mortgage payment anymore. I guess because he's going to be spreading the wealth, like Robin Hood? Take from the rich and give to the poor. I think he'll be more like the sheriff, take the money and keep it for government spending. How about all the special interest groups that helped to get him elected. Yes we can.
