Who agrees that Ender's Game would make a truly incredible movie?

Why do you think no one has attempted it yet?

I feel its the kind of book (and would turn out to be the kind of movie) that doesn't do well in theaters because not a lot of people know it - but it would pick up a cult following and emerge later as a respected movie - something like Serenity or Donnie Darko.

Actually, this book is being attempted to be made into a movie. However, it's been in pre-production hell for the past 3 or so years. I remember hearing about the adaptation in 2006 after I finished reading the book for English class in Grade 10, and at that time, it was set for a 2007 release date, I believe. But here we are now, almost 2009, and it's still in pre-production.

I have a feeling that this will follow the same production timeline as "Watchmen," where we'll hear about it for ages, and when it finally comes close to being released, it'll be ripped from our hands. crying
