The Chronicles of Narnia by C.S. Lewis, The Xanth series by Piers Anthony, a dragon slayer series by Poul Anderson (quite old but very good writing), The Lord of the Rings trilogy by J.R.R. Tolkien, and the Margaret Weiss/Tracy Hickman dragon series.
