I've decided to write a ballet. The plot is as follows:
Hera and Zeus have a fight. Zeus goes out and meets Io, and they fall in love. Hera finds out and finds herself a revenge lover, whom she then falls in love with. Io and Hera's new man die, and then Hera and Zeus mourn together and realize their love for each other.
As divided into acts, scenes, and dances:
Act One: a. Hera and Zeus fight. Pas de Deaux, or maybe just them dancing on stage together. b. Zeus and Io meet. Zeus dancing solo, segues into falling in love Pas de Deaux. Act Two: a. Hera finds a new man and falls in love. Act Three: a. Io/New Guy die. Two solos. Act Four: a. Hera and Zeus mourn and realize their love for each other. Pas de Deaux.
Music: Zeus and Hera's fight: ? Io and Zeus meet: Sonata 1.2 Hera and her Man meet: 3.1 Io/Guy dies: ? Hera and Zeus mourn and realize their love: ?
Okay. I have music for only bits of it, and no choreography. I will post videos of it as it comes along.
I'm not sure what I'm going to do with it. I have me, and a kid named Sandy who is at least enthusiastic about trying, and Mike. I could do a street performance this summer, but that's not very practical, because I'm writing it to be danced en pointe, and sidewalks tear up pointe shoes. It could be demi-pointe, but that's just not as fun. I would want it to be more modern, in that case, whcih would mean different music and a whole different ballpark.

New developmental twist: I'm thinking of scrapping the classical ballet idea, writing it off pointe, and setting it to Beatles songs. Lolololo.
Maybe not entirely Beatles songs, but definitely upping its modernity.

Choreography is coming along slowly but surely.
I have five counts of eight in the last song in the show. BUt it's the pas de deaux, so that's like saying I have ten counts of eight. HUZZAH.
At Last -- Etta James

Y'know, just putting it out there, but a KoRn song in a ballet just seems like a bad idea.
KoRn has their fun and value, but in something kind of art-y, it would probably cheapen the value.
Just my opinion, you don't have to take it for much.
I still think you should use a song from Brand New's The Devil and God... CD, though I couldn't really tell you which without knowing your full vision.
