Playful

Playful, the rippling
Surf, washing over our toes
Fearful, the watching
Crowd, seeing as the waves rose

Joyful, the windy
Meadow, crickets in our hands
Sorrowful, the gray
Sky, ready to drench the lands

Beautiful, drifting
Snow, floating across our sight
Bountiful, ice cold
Flakes, that froze the land in white

Wonderful, leaping
Flames, that warmed our frigid hearts
Hateful, the flying
Sparks, that snet us jumping apart

Disdainful, dark grey
Clouds, that block the light of day
Faithful, the bright
Sun, that sends the gloom away

#35

I would have died a coward
had I found a place to hide
I would not have seen you watching
had I fled so fast inside

I would have died a thief
had they caught it in my hands
I would not have seen you crying
had they dragged me to the stands

I would have died a martyr
had I championed a cause
I would not have left you all alone
for the moment of a pause

A collection of Haiku

The arid desert
Footfalls cause the sand to rise
Trails left by the wind

The sun sets at night
Overhead, the stars shine on
Below, where I am

The chimes play gently
With the wind that passes by
Leaving only sound

Unavoidable
The fall of the moon and sun
Never together

The speed of falling
Is when you are truely still
Passing by your thoughts

Quiet is only
A time when we find there is
An absence of sound

Fleetingly I hear
The sound of lost memory
I find I forget

It leaves when the night
Comes to dot the sky with stars
I do miss the light

When I close my eyes
I see the world perfectly
More so than before

Smiles so Wide

Easter eggs crack underhand
yolk, blood, all, spill
Spring chickens and dinner plates
aren't meant to mix

Laughing around the trees outside
rabbits of plastic and smiles so wide
the hunt begins with arrows and bows
Spears to pierce the armour
When will the days come down
to where I can finally see them
Where will they go in my basket

Green grass rises to meet me this morning
the hunt began the night before
from thoughts of rain
of thunder
of singing to the wind

I see you are not to stay
to be on your way right down the road
the old road, cracked with paving stones
Remnants of the eggs I held
all pieced together, shell by shell

Mannequin

Wooden hands wave goodbye
to the day
to the night
to whatever may come

Windows stand watching
the stars overhead
As the sun shines below
From what they can see

We may be stiff
a little
Joints twisting with metal snaps
We may be dead
a little
Hearts yearning with unnending pleas

Please
My wooden hands are waving
Please
My metal neck is craning
To see the stars overhead and the sun below
We look too far and cannot see
Anymore

My metal eyes are staining
Please
My wooden feet are running
Please

Stiltwalking

Empires built on stilts
Fall down
Merry-go-rounds in wind
Spin 'round

I see the waves to quench the flames
coming over the cliffs
I see the air to snuff the embers
coming from the sea

The wood is splintering, jagged peaks
tumbling round the houses
Blackened coals are red hot eyes
stumbling to find a life

Ocean air and water salt mix on the tongue
I taste the sweet remains
of an empire built
so precariously
on stilts

Golden curls and amethyst eyes
Upon a jeweled horse
the gales come from above they say
to make it spin around
the gusts come from below they say
to make it spin so fast

Flashing manes and tails and hooves
never to be trampled
Ride out upon the ocean airs
Away, and to, away

The waves came washing much too late
to save the silver palace
Clouds look down, move on, come back
Much to late
To ride the stilted horses

VERY nice. I'm not so great at critiquing poetry, but from what I could tell, it was very good. I liked the first one the best because of its creative format. I just love the multiple topics and such. The second was good, but not as good because it wasn't AS creative, though it was still written beautifully. Sorry, but I just can't stand romance poems. x3 But that's a personal annoyance and I could tell that it was very well written...Especially the first one.

Another pet peeve I had, was that the second one rhymed, but again, PET PEEVE, not something bad. Way to go! ^__^
