Probably the youngest one to become a captain in many generations, earning Toushiro a dubbed name of "Boy Prodigy" or "Boy Genius". Toushiro is captain to the 10th Division with Rangiku Matsumoto (whom gives him a little more trouble than Toushiro's bargained for) as his Lieutenant.
Despite his status and title, Toushiro's very mature and carries himself very well while upholding his duties and priorities that comes with the job of a captain. He does has his moments though of getting his share of irritation with a few. Rangiku Matsumoto being one of them with her abandoning her paperwork for instance, and Momo, whom occasionally still treats him like a little brother.
