I just came home from my Certificate of Merit Piano Evaluation, also known as The Terribly Long and Painful Piano Test of Blood, Sweat, and Tears. Basically, this evaluation tests Theory/Ear Training, Technique, Sight Reading, and Performance. Passing it means you can move on to the next level (there are 10 in total), prepare and improve for another year, repeat until you pass Level 10.
It is such a pain to prepare for.
I had to memorize 4 songs for the Performance sections and play them in front of an evaluator. I was so nervous, I trembled, I shivered, I shuddered. I think I did okay, but I feel really nervous thinking about it.
Anyone else take this test?

No I have not taken such a test; however, when I was still part of a concert band I did get quite nervous before getting tested for my clarinet performance.
I never started shivering or anything during those tests, but when it comes to delivering a speech - such as an entire written essey or prose - the paper starts shaking in my hands.
Which... makes me even more nervous... which... makes me shake even more... sweatdrop
If you prepared for it, I'm sure you did well. 3nodding
I was also told that the shaking shows that you're very passionate towards something. wink

No I have not done those tests before
but the stuttering and trembling is what makes us human. Just learn to fight instead of setting your mind to "flight"

nor have i.
when you're nervous, your body tends to tense up and makes you uncomfortable. that usually leads to making you want to move, whether it's fight or flight.

When I get nervous, my voice sounds slightly shaky, and I tend to talk a bit faster than usual so I have to consciously slow myself down. sweatdrop

No, I haven't taken that test, but I do get nervous in my speech class when I make my speeches.

I just got my results back today, and I passed. Wow. People, the next time you get nervous, just remember that someone like me did okay under pressure. That will help you.

I have not taken a test THAT intense, but I did do a piano concert. I was shaking so badly that I almost couldn't play.
I did outstanding though, so the fear paid off. I played a LOTR song.

Oh god. One time, our school's orchestra was taken to an evaluation, which all the other schools in the district had on that day as well, and our teacher didn't know about it until like....4 ********' days beforehand.
And so we bombed it SO HARD.
Oh god. It was awful.
One of the judges came down from his little seat and started walking through our orchestra correcting us and ordering us to do s**t.
Oh god. And every other school was watching us too.
It was just AWFUL.
But yeah. When I'm in pressure or scared, I start looking around a lot and chattering my jaw. D:
