Student hunts husband ... for her degree

User ImageA student is turning her search for a husband into a degree level art project.

23-year-old Alex Humphreys has given herself three months to find a fella, get him to say yes and then get married.

She will document her progress - from dating to wedding planning - for professors from Leeds College of Art and Design.

The project will then be handed in, along with her marriage certificate, for her assessment final art presentation.

Given the amount of planning most women put into their own wedding day shouldn't this be a Phd?

Speaking of her project Alex said: "I have decided to do something a little bit different and ensure that I am remembered for years to come!

"I have chosen to focus on the subject of marriage and am going to attempt to find myself a potential husband over the next three months.

"I plan to explore many avenues, including speed dating, arranged marriages and of course internet dating."

On the basis of what does this count as "art"? neutral Is she planning on making a really fancy scrapbook of her wedding or something (assuming she can even get a mate in time for making the book)? And, lol, what if she does all this and the project gets a failing grade? XD Think of that, your marriage is being graded and not months in the grade was a failure.

Alex Humphreys might think that exploring this avenue of 'experimental art" (community art/social art) a little quirky, but really, what bluecherry says is true: she might get a passing grade for the thought behind this project ( A for originality) but then she could be stuck with a life-partner that is not a match at all, which amounts to AWESOME FAIL.

Maybe her PHD will be on the ART OF DIVORCE. wink

Having determined that she actually does not have sufficient talent as an artist to succeed, this is a novel approach to finding financial support in the form of a husband.

Kudos to bluecherry and Gotham Girlz on their commentary.

The news brief said that this for an art degree, never said that this was a PhD, though it did say that given all the planning that normally goes into getting a wedding ready that women should get a PhD in 'Wedding Planning.'

I think what Gotham Girlz was suggesting, was that her NEXT degree would be a Ph.D. in divorce.
