Spellthief (Complete Adventurer) base for an arcane trickster.
Requirements for the trickster include some skills with at most 7 ranks, sneak attack +2d6, alignment restriction which doesn't matter here, ability to cast mage hand and at least one 3rd level arcane spell.
I don't remember off the top of my head if all of the skills are class but it doesn't really matter because it's gonna be 11 levels for the 3rd levels lot anyway. The 2d6 sneak attack is way earlier than that. MY ISSUE IS THIS:
Spellthiefs don't learn level 0 spells like mage hand. And it seems that spontaneous casters like spellthieves can't choose to learn lower level spells. SO:
Would you allow a spontaneous caster to learn one measly little cantrip if like his whole class progression was based on it?
If not would you accept greater mage hand in place of mage hand for the requirement?
Bonus points, is hexblade or duskblade better for arcane archer? Both allow aa progression after just six levels, no class combination can get lower (or even that low actually) because no class offers bab progression faster than 1 per level and aa requires +6 (and nothing is AS fast because these are the only two classes that allow 1 per level long enough to get spells, a requirement). Plus it requires three feats and you can't get a human bonus feet because it requires elf/half-elf so 6 is again a minimum (unless you use fighter but see spell thing above).
LOL NOVEL

I'd definitely allow a greater mage hand to substitute for progression.
NOW LET ME DIG OUT THE s**t FOR BONUS POINTS
For both story and combat reasons I'll have to say the Duskblade.
It's a Elven-based class, so is Arcane Archer, so alignment isn't an issue (not that it was much of one.), as for combat...
By level 6 you can already use Medium armor without Arcane Failure, though I'd personally stick to the Light since you're going as an Archer anyways, so just grab yourself a Chain Shirt.
OR GO FOR THE GOLD AND GRAB UP SOME ELVEN CHAIN!
Also I just read Duskblade thoroughly and god damn.
Yeah, you'd be pretty much untouchable in melee or at a range.
And since this is assuming you're an Elf (I mean it fits pretty well, right?) you can take Wizard if you want more spells.
