These are some poems I've written. I'll add on some more poems every now and then. I hope you like them- please crit! And feel free to put in requests for poems!!!
Stream- A Haiku
Running so quickly
Through the large green forest floor
It carries the fish.
Freedom- Another Haiku
Strong wind in my hair
The whole wide world to myself
So this is freedom...
The Ocean
So gentle, so strong
So harsh, so calm
Its waves make a rythm
A steady beat
It's loud, it's soft
It rocks me to sleep.
Riddle
He knocks on my door
Taps on my window
He seeps through the floor
Glides through the meadow
He whispers my name
Calling me to him
I run, he follows!
I hide, he finds!
He catches me, takes me away...
It's impossible to run or hide... Believe me, I tried.
A Silly Friend
I have a silly friend
Her name is Crazy Red
She's so obsessed with cheese
She won't even say "please"
This silly friend of mine
Once wrote a couple lines
All about one topic
Yep, cheese! How exotic.
Losing Sanity
The sky is spinning
Falling, falling...
Why can't I stop it?
The birds call out to me,
"Tweet, tweet, CAW!"
Why don't they stop?
People crowding all around me
I want to curl up and cry
Stop, stop, stop!!
I think I'm losing sanity
Maybe I'm in a dream
Can't it all stop?
Too much candy, too much soda
My tongue is burning and
It won't STOP!
Colors flash before my eyes
My fingers have gone numb.
...I think I need a hug.
Christmas
It's the season for penguins and snowmen
The time for snowflakes, shopping and peace
I'm sure we all hope it'll never end
But we'll have to wait another year at least.
Rain
Rain begins gradually
Like a timid deer inspecting its path.
it sees all is well
And it tramples the grass,
The weeds, the leaves,
Without holding back,
It rushes through the forest.
But, as it tires,
It slowly lightens, then stops
Leaving you wondering
When it will return.
A Limerick
There once was a jolly old bloke
Who just could not tell a joke
He tried and he tried
And it turned out all right
'Cept people who heard turned to smoke.
