chapter 2: the festival

"see you tomorrow!" arthur said to ren and yuri. yuri and ren take the same route in going home because they're neighbors. the two were walking in silence. when they got to their houses ren got the courage to ask yuri to the festival. He said "Yuri,,,,uhm will you go to the......th...the....festival with me????". yuri was shocked and hapi at the same time. she didn't hesitate, she replied yes at once. that single word gave ren a big shock. he thought that she would say no.

the next day, ren was skipping with glee. he was so hapi when yuri said yes to his offer. he even put crosses on the calendar for each passing day. trisha and arthur thought that he was turning crazy. finally the day came. ren got dressed up and groomed himself well. he knocked on the door at yuris house. when the door opened it was yuri, looking really pretty in her yukata. they talked while walking to the festival. trisha and arthur were waiting for them. they enjoyed the festival, playing games, eating octopus balls, and more. the fire works display was about to start so they all sat down at the green grass and waited. then one memory popped into yuri's head. "do you remember when we were young, when we used to watch the fire works at the roof?". ren nodded, he even grinned and started laughing. "you were so amazed that you stood up and tried to reach it,that was a really stupid thing to do!your mom even scolded you for weeks!". yuri frowned then laughed.

out of the blue arthur asked "do you know what college you'll be entering?"
